With only her dream and her voice, she finally claimed the title she had long awaited: winner. Fil-Am singer Jessica Sanchez, after making a 19-year comeback, has just won America’s Got Talent. “What can I say? It was perfection,” Judge Sofia Vergara gushed. And perfection it was.

Filipinos have always rallied behind their own, especially in music, and the MEGA cover star is no exception to that. She has long been supported by Filipinos ever since she first stepped foot on AGT’s first-ever season, and even more during the 11th season of American Idol. To finally witness her win—with a breathtaking rendition of “Die With A Smile”—it felt like the culmination of a journey nearly two decades in the making.

But this was not the conclusion of her story—it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter. For two months, Sanchez stood on the AGT stage reclaiming her moment—not just as a singer, but as a soon-to-be mother.
