It was almost prophetic that BINI made their official debut with Born To Win. It may have taken a few years and a couple of viral singles, but the eight-member girl group is indeed winning. The group has not only broken through to the mainstream but is doing so on the global stage. They continuously reach new heights. Case in point: they made history this April as the first P-pop group and all-Filipino group to perform at Coachella, a set that deservingly broke the internet. And ending their month on an even higher note, these talented ladies are now the proud owners of the Global Force Award at Billboard Women In Music 2026.

BINI The Global Force

As Billboard Philippines‘ selection for the Global Force Award at Billboard Women In Music 2026 ceremony in Los Angeles on April 30, Philippine time, the honor signaled how BINI’s impact is going beyond the country’s shores. They are growing into a girl group that not only represents P-pop but also OPM on the world stage. The ladies are also in good company as they are just the second Filipina artist in history to have won the award, following Sarah Geronimo in 2024.

Presented to them by Cara Delevigne, BINI took to the stage to not just accept the award on their behalf, but also for Filipino artists in general. “Thank you Billboard for the “Global Force” award. Standing here tonight is something we, BINI, only dreamed about. We are deeply honored to be given a chance to represent Filipino artists back home. This is not just a milestone for us, but also a responsibility we carry with so much pride,” said Colet during the speech as she acknowledged their co-awardees.

Jhoanna took the moment to highlight how, just like their fellow awardees, they hope to use their growing platform to uplift other women, especially the next generation. “And just like you, we hope that we also inspire young girls watching this and they realize that their dreams are valid, no matter where they come from.” She adds, “To our company, ABS-CBN, our families, and most especially to our supporters, our Blooms, thank you for taking a chance on these 8 women and believing in us since Day 1. Shout out also to Billboard Philippines for always supporting us and Filipino music and artists!

Concluding the group’s speech, Jhoanna gave a shoutout to OPM and their stature as young binibinis. “We accept this award not only as BINI, but more importantly, as proud Filipinas.  Thank you, salamat at mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino!”

In a night that honored other outstanding women, such as HUNTR/X, Zara Larsson, Tate McRae, and fellow Global Force Awardee Canadian all-girl rock band The Beaches, BINI’s win felt extra special. It was a moment not just for them, but also for other Filipina artists who have been striving in their industry, and OPM.

The Nation’s Girl Group walking the star-studded red carpet, being in the same room as global female musicians, and being recognized by A-list stars and icons like Laufey and Thalia is an achievement in itself. But the Global Force Award, and one won by a young Filipina girl group no less, is a commendable recognition. More and more are we seeing even more doors open up for Filipinas around the world.
