OPM history has been made. On April 11, 7:15 AM Philippine time, BINI made history as the first P-pop, all-Filipino girl group, and all-Filipino group to have performed at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. Taking on the Mojave Stage on Day 1, the group delivered one of the most anticipated performances of the festival, bringing P-pop excellence to the Coachella Valley.
The 45-minute high-energy set featured a total of ten tracks that entertained BLOOMs in the audience and casual attendees in the crowd, and the fans who tuned in to the livestream. With their signature charm and stage presence, BINI showcased what P-pop and OPM have to offer to their biggest audience yet. And the best part is that there’s still more to come, as BINI has a second performance for Weekend 2 set for next Saturday, Philippine time. So, as we wait for round 2, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite highlights from the Weekend 1 performance.

The Costumes
BINI prepared not one, but two costumes for their Coachella performance. Spearheaded by their stylist and creative director, Ica Villanueva, the looks centered on a story revolving around the elements. First, for their opening number of Shagidi, they stepped out on stage in intricately detailed warrior-like armor designed in collaboration with Marian Zara and Job Dacon featuring a reinterpretation and deconstruction of traditional Filipino elements and materials such as the salakot, banig, and woven textures. As revealed by Dacon, each golden outfit used around 20 to 25 sheets of real gold leaf, along with two pounds of recycled plastic.
Then, in a seamless quick costume change that was one of the set’s highlights, the members revealed gorgeous teal Siren outfits designed by Raf Villas meant to represent water. The results were looks that complemented the group’s aesthetic while referencing Filipino culture. And if you’re wondering, BINI will have new looks for their Weekend 2 performance, which will center on land.
P-Pop on the Coachella Stage
Coachella has always been known as a global gathering of music. But hearing P-pop on the Coachella stage felt surreal in the best way. BINI performed a selection of their old hits as well as newer songs. And while hearing tracks like Blink Twice, Cherry On Top, and Blush were nice, seeing the girls perform in Tagalog with their hits Karera, Salamin, Salamin, and Pantropiko was a special moment. It’s the most famous music festival in the world hearing P-pop for the first time, and it felt so good.
BINI Brings Filipino Culture to Mojave
If there’s one thing BINI is going to do, aside from delivering a stellar performance and impeccable stage presence, it’s represent the Philippines on the world stage. And that’s exactly what they did during their Coachella 2026 performance. Filipino culture was very much present on the Mojave stage, from the Philippine flags we spotted in the crowd to the members singing in Tagalog. At one point, Mikha taught the audience their signature expression of “Eyyy!” and what it means in the Filipino context. Even before the set, the mic caught Jhoanna speaking in Tagalog asking the staff where their water was. From their looks to their set and everything in between, it all felt like a proud statement of their Filipino heritage.
The Pantropiko Dance Break
It’s one thing to hear Pantropiko, arguably their most famous song to date and the track that helped break them into the mainstream, on the Coachella stage. But the fact that they also included the dance break in the set was a cherry on top, especially since they added traditional Filipino instruments like the kulintang to the production. That’s how you make your historic Coachella debut.

It felt like the whole nation was behind the group with the level of support they recieved. At the festival, fans went all out to promote their performance, from billboards, flyers, flags, and social media campaigns. Aside from the fact that BLOOMs and Filipinos made their way to Coachella to watch the girls in person, there were even more Filipinos back home who were up as early as 7 AM to watch the livestream of their performance.
This wasn’t just a Filipino girl group performing at Coachella, but a moment for the Philippines to get its deserved spotlight in one of the biggest stages in the world. Many came together to celebrate the milestone. Even celebs like Bretman Rock were spotted in the audience supporting his fellow kababayans.
