Elena Golf and Country Club last October 23 to 26.

Now, the country joins the ranks of nations such as Singapore and China as one of the premier destinations for world-class golf established throughout Asia.

More Than a Swing

Marked not just by hole-in-ones by the world’s best, this debut embraced the essence of celebration and signature Filipino hospitality. Beyond a visit to the greens, guests indulged in a week-long series of events all revolving around the three-day competition.

If they weren’t in the crowds at Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap or Parokya ni Edgar’s stunning performances during “Swing for the Filipino Sports Dream”—the culminating festival at Aseana City Concert Grounds—they were clinking glasses with local sports’ most exciting figures at dressy soirées.

In believing that the country deserved a spot among the golfing elite, DigiPlus and the International Series linked the exciting worlds of culture, sports, and entertainment together with flying colors.

DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio H. Tanco said it best, “By hosting an event of this caliber, we have shown that the Philippines can proudly stand alongside other global sporting destinations, sharing our nation’s warmth, talent, and spirit with the world”.
