All eyes were on the grand stage of the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City last night as Miss Universe Philippines 2026 crowned its new queen: La Union’s radiant Bea Millan-Windorski. And while every delegate dazzled in her finest, the presence of the evening’s host, Marina Summers, was equally unforgettable.
In her historic debut as the first drag superstar to host the pageant, Summers stunned the audience with five show-stopping outfit changes. Each ensemble was crafted by a different local designer to showcase the best of Filipino fashion, and carefully curated by stylist Ryuji Shiomitsu, who elevated every appearance with impeccable glamour.
A Fresh Beginning

As the fifty ladies made their entrance to a performance by P-pop boy group BGYO, Summers emerged in a white low-waist gown featuring a corseted bodice that hugged her silhouette beautifully. The look was paired with BVLGARI accessories and designed by Ulysses Caragayan, who specializes in balancing structural tailoring with feminine softness.
A Rose in Full Bloom

To announce the Top 30 semi-finalists, Summers wore a red rosette couture piece by Mark Bumgarner. Given her high-impact personality, it came as no surprise to see her in such a sculptural garment in an unapologetically bold hue. Accessories from Jewelmer provided the finishing touch.
A Vivacious Madonna

The thrilling swimsuit segment concluded with the announcement of the Top 15, where Summers unveiled her most festive attire yet: a vivid cut-out Ehrran Montoya creation with dangling beads and feathers. It was an outfit as varied as it was full of life.
A Vision of Dark Radiance

What would the evening gown portion be if Summers didn’t don a piece as glamorous as the segment? Yet again, she chose an elegant number by fellow trans woman Glademir Echavarre, this time featuring silver sequins and layers of black beads that resembled swaying fringe. A sheer fabric trail rounded out the look.
A Golden Closing

For the long-awaited crowning moment, Summers finished strong. Metallic, futuristic, and utterly striking, her custom gown by Dandy Temporosa was inspired by the designer’s own 2025 graduation collection.
She’s come a long way. It’s no easy feat to host a four-hour event, yet the trailblazing performer remained powerful until the very end. Beyond the splendor of garments that displayed Philippine creativity, her visibility matters to everyone in the Filipino queer community and the many trans women who, much like Marina Summers, shine brightest when they are most truly themselves.
