After months of competition, we finally have a new Miss Universe Philippines, and it is Miss Universe Philippines La Union Bea Millan-Windorski, who was crowned the coveted title during the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night on May 2. Among the fifty delegates that competed this year, Bea was seen as an early frontrunner, with pageant fans seeing her as one of the queens to watch out for. And clearly, the hype was real as she proved her worth and potential in every step of the competition. From the start of the preliminaries all the way to the finals, Bea stayed consistent with poise, beauty, confidence, and intelligence.

Even before she joined Miss Universe Philippines 2026, Bea, who was born and raised in Wisconsin, already had a sterling reputation in the pageant world. Notably, this isn’t her first major pageant crown as Bea won Miss Earth USA in 2024, becoming the first ever Filipino-American to hold the title at just 21 years old. She would eventually place in the top five of Miss Earth 2024, where she was awarded the title of Miss Earth Water.

After some time, she would move to the Philippines, where she would go on to represent her family’s hometown of La Union in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. However, the move was more than just an opportunity, as Bea made it clear that competing in Miss Universe Philippines was an extension of her love for the country and her Filipino heritage.

“The Philippines is something and a place I’ve been in love with my whole life. Growing up in a predominantly non-diverse part of the United States, I was identified as Filipina first and foremost,” she said during the Q&A segment when she was asked why it’s still worth it to represent the Philippines on the global stage despite the frustration many Filipinos have with the country.

“I often had to point where the Philippines was on a map to my peers and I always felt a sense of belonging and home. I chose to pack my life in balikbayan boxes and suitcases because I believe in the limitless potential of the Filipino people and the fact that we need to create local opportunities here so that people don’t have to go abroad and be separated from their families in order to survive and thrive. If I were given the title of Miss Universe Philippines, I promise to be a public servant for all.”

Outside of pageantry, Bea is a passionate environmental advocate, having worked with a handful of organizations like Project Curma to help spread awareness for protecting the local environment and wildlife. She is also vocal about pertinent social issues in the country, such as when she attended, protested, and even spoke at protests and demonstrations against government corruption last year, such as the Trillion Peso March.

It’s all these experiences, traits, convictions, and more that Bea brings as our next Miss Universe Philippines. We wish her well during her reign and as she competes in Miss Universe 2026 this November.
