Pop culture has always been Halloween’s biggest inspiration for costumes. Artists, films, tv shows, even memes—It dominates the streets every October. This year is no different. Both in and outside the Philippines, these are the costumes we think will make a trick-or-treat appearance.

King Kylie
2016 makeup is so back. The queen of overdrawn lips is making a comeback to reclaim her throne as King Kylie—just in time for the 10th anniversary of Kylie Cosmetics. Throw on a pink wig, master your cut crease, and dust off your best bodycon dress.

The Spotify Playlist
Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl album made waves upon release, and Swifties should make take the opportunity to bling it up this Halloween. Throw on your best bejeweled ensemble and feathered headdress to bring your showgirl dreams to life!

The bolder choice? Channel Sabrina Carpenter—a blonde wig, sequin lingerie, knee-high boots, and her signature overblushed cheeks. Don’t forget to sparkle it up!
Screen to Scream
Films and shows were aplenty—and many we still can’t forget. Wednesday Season 2 brought everyone back to twin braids and all-black ensembles. Swipe on black lipstick and you’ve got yourself an easy Wednesday Addams costume.

Wicked will never go out of style, especially with its second film coming this November. Throw on your biggest pink gown and a wand for Glinda—or go as Elphaba in a black dress, witch hat, and broom. And if you’re feeling extra, paint your skin green (just make sure it washes off!)
Girl Group Power
Girl groups dominated this year with catchy hits and viral videos, making Halloween the perfect time for a coordinated costume with your besties. Go as KATSEYE in their viral Gap campaign with your best denim ensembles, or don sultry red dresses inspired by their “Gabriela” music video.
For the trios, expect Huntrix from Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters to be a favorite. Their anime-inspired looks and viral soundtracks are just begging for a group costume moment.
Victoria’s Secret Angel
With the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, expect Angels to make their Halloween comeback. Practice your runway walk, bring out the bombshell hair, and dust off your wings. Slip into your prettiest lingerie and live out your VS dream.

Nepo Babies
We may forget dates—but not memes. Be cheeky and ironic with this costume. Pull your trousers high, tuck in a blouse, and don’t forget a designer bag for the finishing touch.
Performative Male
Ah yes, the performative male. Go literal or add a feminine twist. All you need: a plain tee layered over a button down, baggy jeans, tote bag, a book, and a cup of matcha. Now you’re irresistible (ironically, of course).
Couple Costumes
Of course, couples will have their moment. The recently engaged Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce make the perfect pairing. Bring out the showgirl look while your partner gears up in football attire.
For the chronically online duo, go as the Coldplay concert affair. Dress as the executive in a black tank top and black trousers, while your partner wears a blue shirt. And if people don’t get it, have your partner embrace you from behind while you play “Yellow.”
Whether you’re serving runway, camp, or chaos, Halloween is the ultimate excuse to live out your fantasy—just don’t forget the attitude to match.
