There are those who celebrate anniversaries ceremoniously, and then there’s LOEWE, which treats its 180th year like an open studio: doors wide, materials out on the table, and history gently rearranged for anyone to touch. They’re still crafting, essentially—a quality deeply on-brand for them, even if reaching nearly two centuries of existence is no simple feat.

LOEWE’s Anniversary Capsule Collection
Founded in 1846 in Madrid by a collective of artisans, the house began as a small workshop on a cobbled street. Today, LOEWE is a global name, shaped by a steady devotion to creation and an instinct for experimentation that has never lost its sense of ease.

This year’s celebration takes form through a campaign photographed by Talia Chetrit, gathering aespa’s GISELLE, actresses Julia Garner, Salma Abu Deif, Kara Wai, and Sissy Spacek, alongside artist Kara Walker. Each lady is accompanied by house icons drawn from different moments in LOEWE’s history, such as the Flamenco clutch, the Puzzle bag, and a contemporary reimagining of a classic—the Amazona 180, a handbag crafted from smooth suede and supple calfskin.

Alongside the campaign, LOEWE is introducing a capsule collection that extends the anniversary into everyday objects. Ready-to-wear pieces and small accessories are punctuated with motifs drawn from the brand’s identity, including lion references (because “loewe” means lion in German).

There might not be a candle-lit cake for this birthday, but it’s a party nonetheless. 180 years later, LOEWE continues to charm with its ongoing pursuit of art and joy, one leather lion face at a time.
LOEWE is located at Shangri-La Plaza Mall East Wing, Greenbelt 3, and The Mall | NUSTAR Cebu.
