Each year, The Business of Fashion—founded by CEO Imran Amed—spotlights 100 new names who shape the global style and retail landscape. This year’s class spans 30 countries and 40 nationalities, celebrating the individuals and innovators redefining the way fashion moves, sells, and connects. Joining the ranks are actors Colman Domingo and Anna Sawai, musicians Kendrick Lamar and Tems, and designers Simone Bellotti of Jil Sander, Michael Rider of CELINE, and Giambattista Valli. Standing among these international figures is Huang, whose influence continues to bridge Filipino retail with the world stage.

As head of SSI Group—the country’s leading specialty retailer—Huang has brought global luxury closer to home, carrying labels such as LOEWE, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Hermès, Cartier, Coach, Zara, and JD Sports. He also spearheaded Trunc, SSI’s e-commerce platform, which expanded access to designer brands for Filipino shoppers.

A veteran of the family business, Huang began working for SSI while still in college and rose to Executive Vice President in 1994. His decades-long leadership has been recognized internationally, having received the Chevalier dans l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur from France in 2015 and the Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana in 2017.

The honor marks another milestone not only in Huang’s career but also in Filipino representation within global fashion. As his daughter, Nikki Huang, wrote in her congratulatory post: “Congratulations, Dad, on being named to the BoF 500 Class of 2025—and for making history as the first Filipino to be recognized in the executive category. Being your plus one to the BoF Gala was the best. I’m so proud of you, always.”
