It’s funny to think how reaching a certain age can be received differently depending on where you stand. Milestone birthdays tend to feel more daunting than others because it feels like you’re permanently leaving a part of yourself behind. Yet, in the process of closing your last chapter, you also appreciate how far you’ve come.
Kathryn Bernardo officially entered her thirties last March, with plenty to appreciate along the way. As she steps into this new decade, here’s a look back at the major wins of one of Philippine entertainment’s most celebrated actresses.

2003–2009: Child Star
At only seven years old, Bernardo entered show business through ABS-CBN in 2003 and spent the next several years building an impressive résumé as a child actress.
2010: Breakthrough
Then came Mara Clara, with Bernardo taking on the role of Mara David in the modern adaptation of the beloved drama. The teleserye elevated her from a familiar young face into one of television’s brightest stars. For many millennials and Gen Z viewers, this was the role that made her a household name.
2011–2017: Philippine TV’s Leading Young Actress
Her upward streak as a teleserye powerhouse—solidified by Princess and I, Got to Believe, Pangako Sa ‘Yo, and La Luna Sangre—closely mirrored her rising status in fashion and entertainment.

By September 2014, she shared the cover of MEGA’s Safari issue with Erich Gonzales, Julia Barretto, and Maja Salvador. Her relationship with the magazine deepened in November 2016 when she flew to Iceland to shoot nine covers, including three solo editions. Just a year later, in October 2017, she cemented her presence by fronting six distinct covers for MEGA’s landmark 25th-anniversary issue. In between, Bernardo was officially added to the Eastwood City Walk of Fame during 2015.
2018: Box Office Dominance
The blockbuster hit The Hows of Us, in which Bernardo starred, broke box office records. It reportedly earned ₱35.9 million on its first day of screening.
2019: Broke Her Own Record
A year later, Bernardo met an unexpected rival: herself. Hello, Love, Goodbye surpassed The Hows of Us to take the title of the highest-grossing Filipino film of that time.
2023: International Acting Recognition
Her body of work eventually garnered recognition outside the country. Bernardo received the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards.
2024: Career Peak

2024 was a momentous year for Bernardo. She graced both the covers of MEGA’s April and November issues, followed by her receiving her first FAMAS Award for Best Actress for A Very Good Girl. Then came Hello, Love, Again, which made history as the first Filipino film to earn more than ₱1 billion worldwide. In addition, she received the Snow Leopard Rising Star Award at the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles.
2025: Career Expansion
After years as one of the country’s premier leading ladies, Bernardo stepped into a different role as a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent Season 7. Around the same time, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong announced plans for her very own wax figure, placing Bernardo among a select group of Filipinos honored by the museum.
2026: Her Own Wax Figure

Nearly a year after it was initially announced, Madame Tussauds finally unveiled Kathryn Bernardo’s wax figure in the Philippines, ahead of its official display in Hong Kong. Joining the ranks of acclaimed Filipinos like Manny Pacquiao, Lea Salonga, Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Catriona Gray, and Anne Curtis-Smith, the 30-year-old actress is the youngest honoree to receive this distinction. Her replica captures her look from the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards, featuring the elegant white dress designed by Martin Bautista.
More than two decades after her debut, Kathryn Bernardo’s name is deeply intertwined with local pop culture and Philippine excellence. We’ve watched her grow from a promising child star into an industry titan—and the most exciting part is realizing she is still far from done.
