When one thinks of what it’s like to be rich and famous, Dua Lipa is someone who easily fits the bill. Tall, gorgeous, talented, and successful, she is the embodiment of living your best life. From being a global pop star selling out arenas across the world to seemingly being on vacation every other week and just generally experiencing the joys of life, Lipa is doing it all. She even met her husband Callum Turner in Los Angeles as they were both reading Trust by Hernan Diaz and coincidentally just finished the first chapter, as if their love story was plucked straight from a romance novel.

It’s no wonder then that people see Lipa as the embodiment of manifestation, especially with her track Training Season going viral on social media lately, as people are using it to claim their dream partner and, in general, a kind of life Lipa is living now. The musician has said that she saw the track as like a mantra for getting the perfect guy, and she seemingly manifested Callum Turner into her life. But her success and happiness aren’t strictly limited to her or A-list celebrities. In fact, there are a few things we can learn from the British pop star on how to manifest the life we want.

Why Does Manifestation Require Putting In the Work, Like Dua Lipa Did?

Living your best life requires you putting effort into it

Most think of manifestation as something that will just come to you. And while there is some truth to that, manifesting the life that you want is more than just sitting around and waiting for it to happen. More than just willing it into existence, you also need to put in the effort to make it a possibility. Dua Lipa is proof of this.

Most see her now as a superstar, but back in the late 2010s, her reputation was attached to the viral video of her aggressive hip swivel and the meme image of someone commenting the immortal line “go girl give us nothing” on one of her live performances on YouTube. Both served as the internet’s way to poke fun at Lipa’s then-perceived lack of performance ability, and she has admitted that it caused some emotional trauma. But instead of accepting it as is, she put in the work to improve her artistry and craft.

The result was her 2019 comeback single Don’t Start Now and the iconic Future Nostalgia album and era that silenced the critics and solidified Lipa’s place as a pop powerhouse. She put in the work that led to tangible results, and the same can be possible for you.

It’s not just about magically speaking something into existence, but also about believing in your success and acting upon it. And once you get the ball rolling, your manifestation might just be waiting for you around the corner.

Why Dua Lipa’s Training Season and New Rules Show the Power of Specificity

It’s one thing to manifest things, but it’s another to hone in on exactly what you want for yourself. It starts internally, with being clear about your intentions and what you’d like to see happen for yourself. Training Season isn’t just a general call of wanting a better partner, as Lipa states during the chorus what kind of lover she wants. As she sings, “Someone to hold me close/Deeper than I’ve ever known/Whose love feels like a rodeo/Knows just how to take control/ When I’m vulnerable he’s straight talking to my soul/Conversation overload.” That’s what she wanted, and she found it in Callum Turner.

Even during the early years of her career, Lipa was already clear about what she wants, or more specifically what she doesn’t. Her breakout single, New Rules, is an anthem for maintaining standards and literally lists out the red flags and situations to avoid, from not picking up the phone because he’s only calling when he’s drunk and alone to not being under him because you won’t get over him. To will something into existence is to know what you want in your life. So keep it clear, specific, and geared towards your needs.

How Dua Lipa Reflects Living Life Fully

Just like dua lipa, there’s a lot you can get in experiencing the world

If there’s one thing we can learn from Dua Lipa, it’s that experiencing the world can do you wonders. Manifesting is personal, but that doesn’t mean it has to be done in solitude. It’s become a joke on the internet at this point that Lipa is on a never-ending vacation. Her life is like a Pinterest vision board. But it just goes to show that she’s a woman who loves to see the world, experience things, and keep herself educated and updated on what’s happening.

For example, Lipa loves to read, so much so that she founded her own book club called Service95 Book Club as a way to promote books, literacy, and critical thinking, interviews her favorite authors on her podcast, and even helped open a library in Portugal. This doesn’t mean you should book that beach trip already; not everyone has Dua Lipa-levels of funds. But it does mean to open yourself up to the world and live a little.

Manifestations aren’t like cars using GPS to get to your home. They will find you when they find you, but you also invest time and energy in your own life, whether that be hanging out with friends, dating, doing hobbies, and the like. Good things can only come your way if you put yourself in an environment conducive to it. Manifestation is not just about hoping for the best, but also consistent effort on your end.

And in all of this also comes the virtue of patience. Dua Lipa didn’t find the man of her dreams at the snap of her fingers. As much as we all want our manifestations to happen right away, the truth is that they take time, but that doesn’t mean you should be disheartened. Just like in her most recent album, there is power in being a radical optimist.
