There are a few things that make Coachella the music festival that it is, and one of the more underrated parts of that is the surprise appearances. It’s become expected at this point that artists will have a surprise guest or performer join them on stage. We all remember where we were when Zendaya made her iconic cameo in Labrinth’s Coachella set in 2023. And this year is no exception.
Already, we’ve had actor Tyriq Withers join PinkPantheress on stage, Sabrina Carpenter bring out a cohort of actors for her movie-inspired headlining performance, GIVEON bringing out Kehlani during his set, and Addison Rae dancing with Maddie Ziegler for her set, to name a few. And we can add another moment to the list with BINI’s surprise appearance during flowerovlove’s set.

It goes without saying that BINI has been living their best life at Coachella. After breaking the internet on Day 1 of the festival with their historic performance, the eight-member girl group has been enjoying their time in the valley. From watching other performances to attending parties, they’ve been making the rounds. And the group got to cross off one more item on their Coachella bucket list when rising Gen Z British musician flowerovlove brought out the girls during her set on Day 3 of Weekend 1 of the festival.
“But I feel like I’m missing maybe six… seven? of my friends to come on stage, to do this song with me,” she told the crowd before Aiah, Jhoanna, Mikha, Colet, Sheena, Gwen, and Stacey appeared on stage to join her for a performance of her viral hit breaking news. Dressed in custom Renan Pacson, the members vibed with the young artist and did the song’s viral dance challenge on stage.
To some, this might seem like a random collaboration, but there’s precedent behind this. In case you didn’t know, flowerovlove has been to the Philippines before and counts a handful of Filipino stars and personalities as friends, such as Niana Guerrero. The breaking news dance trend, meanwhile, went particularly viral in the Philippines and was popularized by PBB alumni Jarren Garcia and Kolette Madelo. Some of the BINI members have done the dance trend before and flowerovlove herself has said that she would love to collaborate with the group for Coachella.
It made for a fun and full-circle moment, and was the latest link-up for BINI, who, during their first weekend in Coachella, reunited with British girl group Say Now (one of their members, Ysabelle Salvanera, is of Filipino heritage), had a long-awaited reunion with Sophia Laforteza, and met certified BLOOM Bretman Rock.
Up next for BINI is their performance on Weekend 2 next Saturday, Philippine time. We already know they will have a new outfit, this time inspired by the element of land, and who knows, the group might even add a new song or two to the setlist for next weekend.
