Bid farewell to your pearl clips, ladies. Instead, fasten your hair with a silk headscarf as seen during the runway show of Christian Dior.

After seeing all of the fashion shows that decorated New York, London, Milan, and Paris, several trends have emerged already. Apart from the gorgeous clothes made by the designers, bags have also been elevated—thanks to their peculiarly interesting shapes.

And adding to the ever-growing list of trends is a head accessory, specifically a silk headscarf. Like many fashion pieces that hark back to fads of the past, a silk headscarf has been re-imagined by Dior‘s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was inspired by emblematic figures of Italian feminist art from the 60s to the 70s.

In her new collection, she continues to question the multiple and immutable links between the body, feminism, and femininity. She envisioned an initiatory path to self-assertion, through art and fashion. Hence, she capped-off majority of her looks with a silk headscarf featuring the brand’s famed monogram logo, if not a tie-dye print.

The creative director chose to style the silk headscarf in a bandana tie. It’s easily achieved by simply folding it diagonally in half, and tie it over your hair (preferably under a ponytail). And the best part about this trend is its practicality during the warm season.

Not only does a silk headscarf impeccably exudes the true meaning of “Parisian chic,” but rather it helps to protect your hair from the sun’s harsh rays. After all, fashion is all about aesthetic whilst still comfortable, and we love how Dior gave just that to us.
