It was done. The curtains finally fell on fashion month, and Paris was the finale the world expected it to be. Across cities, the French capital remained as the industry’s most expressive stage, and the Spring/Summer 2026 collections of this season were no exception. Daring theatricality found its way into Parisian runways as maximalism became a recurring theme for several houses. From shoulder pads to feathers, here are the trends that defined the closing act.

Top Heavy
Proportionally, the loudness began up top. Structured shoulders, artistic ruching, and high necklines dominated the runways of Maison Margiela, Chloé, and Chanel.

All Feathered Up
Feathers were full-volume this season. Givenchy, Stella McCartney, and Issey Miyake took flight with plumes that were unapologetically excessive.

Bejeweled Beauties
Jewelry as clothing emerged as one of the most striking trends of Paris S/S26. It was hard to look away from Givenchy’s metallic adornments, Mugler’s star-shaped embellishments, and Maison Margiela’s shimmering piece.

Something Sheer
Did modesty make a comeback? Not at all. Transparency still reigned supreme. At Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Balenciaga, models strutted in looks with sheer elements.

Hood Haven
Good news for those that wish to steer clear from naked dresses. Seen at Uma Wang, Courrèges, and Balmain, hoods offered a stylish take on anonymity.

If there was one takeaway we gathered after Paris Fashion Week S/S26, it was the mandate for audacious self-expression—be it through revealing dresses, authoritative tops, or extra embellishments. Even the return of the hoods was “don’t talk to me” personified, which is its own kind of defiance. Whichever trend you lean into, fashion is always loudest when it’s authentic.
