By definition, a window is just a sheet of glass that permits us to see beyond our walls. But from an optimistic perspective, it also functions as a frame that pulls the vastness of a garden or the seaside into a living painting. Without that boundary, the horizon might feel overwhelming; with it, the chaos of nature becomes a story we can finally lean into.




Sohee Park may have debuted her Spring/Summer 2026 Haute Couture collection within the salon of the Parisian Shangri-La hotel, but her intention was to transport her audience elsewhere. She had a specific vantage point in mind: her family’s summer home at the southern edge of the Korean coast. Viewed through a window, that scenery remained vivid in her memory as a series of vignettes—swaying wisteria, resilient bamboo, and the rhythmic waves of the ocean.

The Scenery
Park’s signature hourglass bodices served as literal structures for these natural panoramas. Silk and taffeta were treated as fine canvases, where mountains and orchids were not merely flat patterns but rich topographies rendered in thread. Brass bamboo branches also erupted from corsets, and gowns appeared to sprout cherry blossoms as if nourished by the runway lights. To emphasize this communion with the wild, one particular ensemble was even punctuated by a striking albino peacock.




As the presentation transitioned into the bridal realm, the botanical turned celestial. The finale featured a look draped in a hooded veil encrusted with Swarovski crystals, turning the model into a shimmering vision reminiscent of sunlight hitting the surface of the sea.

In this way, Sohee Park is no mere passive observer. By mapping the horizon onto the female form, she transforms the wearer into a living, breathing landscape. There’s a moving familiarity here, recognizable to anyone who has ever leaned against a windowsill to get lost in the view. Daydreamers know the feeling best: while a house might have walls, our capacity for fantasy does not.
