Sing the body electric with Vic Fajatin’s cutouts, colors, and craftsmanship through his collection, Framing Bodies
Resonating with the country’s current weather, Vic Fajatin emphasizes the essence of summer—bask in the brightness of colors, free your body, and play in the sun. In an all-female ensemble, “Framing Bodies” portrays the matriarchal influence of his fashion journey. This collection pays homage to his mother who pushed the designer to pursue his craft. With that comes a more careful approach and appreciation of the human body—curves and all.

The youthful energy of Fajatin comes out, at first glance, in the warmth of fuchsia and the coolness of the cobalt blue which mirror the presence of the sun and the sea in summertime. Geometric shapes came in play, and they also came to play with the acrylic backdrop and the metalwork in the hemline. In Vic’s words and philosophy, “I stand by in having fun. That’s important to me—to enjoy the process.”

They say the youth is wasted on the young; but not on this designer’s watch. His collection is a testament that great fun comes with great, innovative craftsmanship. Affirming bodies without an outright exposure of skin, cut-outs on the waists and hips bring confidence with comfort. Vic Fajatin is indeed framing bodies, and his gaze is bright like his future as a designer.
