We know Trotter loves her black, white, brown, and red, so seeing lilac on her runway was a treat. S/S27 has a lighter palette in general, with butter yellow slipping into the mix and one excellent meeting of violet and crinkled pink. These shades suit the ease she wanted for the season and give us another side of her house to enjoy. Keep them coming, honestly.
Our favorite detail goes to the unexpected crochet. Careful handwork gives way to large openings across the body, with one white look interrupted by little red flowers. Trotter described parts of S/S27 as “a little bit undone,” and this is where the idea sings. It’s deconstructed without being thoughtless.
