It takes the right designer to capture a dancer’s natural movement and fluidity—and that is exactly what Jot Losa achieved. Artist and dancer Chie Filomeno stole the spotlight at MEGA Ball: Fashion + Dance in a modernized 1920s fringe gown. Together, both the dancer and the designer embodied the night’s theme with a look that was fluid, rhythmic, and dynamic.

Sensual and Sophisticated
The masterpiece was a collaborative effort between Losa, Filomeno, and stylist Perry Tabora. Knowing the artist’s bold, sensual energy, they envisioned a gown that would move beautifully with her. Hence, a Charleston-era dress, artfully reimagined with a modern and sultry twist.
“Instead of heavy embellishments, we focused on movement and texture, using layers of black fringe to create drama and fluidity,” the designer explained. The sleek and elongated silhouette complemented Filomeno’s petite frame, while the plunging neckline brought a bold and refined edge.

True to the theme, the gown moved with the artist, fringes swaying with her hips, creating a visual rhythm that almost mimicked choreography.—the marriage of sensuality, fluidity, and playfulness in full motion.“It felt very true to Chie: confident, empowered, and effortlessly glamorous,” the designer remarked.
The Strut of Confirmation
Losa shared that working with Filomeno and Tabora is always a creative joy, a group that always delivers inspired collaboration. “They both bring so much trust and input to the process, which allows us to really refine every detail,” he noted.
One unforgettable moment came from the final fitting, when the artist simply strutted across the room in the finished gown.
