Many consider The Devil Wears Prada as a go-to comfort watch, but its status as a modern classic is also due to how the movie changed the way the fashion media and industry at large were seen in mainstream pop culture, an industry that MEGA has been a part of for decades.

So, with the film’s long-awaited sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, finally in cinemas, MEGA came through with a special screening on opening day. The Opus Premier Cinemas in Opus Mall served as the setting for this glamorous movie event. Attendees and guests across the fields of fashion, beauty, creatives, entertainment, and more showed up and showed out in Runway Magazine-approved looks in the film’s signature red, white, and black color scheme. Vintage designer was the name of the game as statement pieces ruled the red carpet of MEGA Presents: The Devil Wears Prada 2. Wearing archival for a movie screening? Now that’s groundbreaking and fitting for a film like this.

Upon arrival, guests received their tickets at the registration and, in true Runway fashion, strutted down the red carpet and also got their pictures taken at the Luxe Slim Vignette, channeling their inner cover model in each shot. Before their screening, guests enjoyed snacks and drinks while chatting and socializing at the main cinema lobby and the VIP Cinema lobby.

Multiple screenings were held throughout the day across two cinemas, with the day’s first screening welcoming select guests such as Anna Magkawas, CEO and Owner of Luxe Beauty, and Miss Jay-Ann Bincal, owner and founder of Purse Maison. Once attendees settled into their seats, Peewee Reyes-Isidro, Editor-in-Chief of MEGA, and Janine Recto, VP for Asia Media Brands, kicked off the short program by highlighting how the movie mirrors the reality it tries to portray, one where fashion, media, and influence keep evolving in step with the changing tastes and generations. “We stand at a different crossroads, one where print meets digital, and tradition meets disruption, and influence is more dramatic than ever. We hope that this chapter captures the evolving landscape of fashion with the same wit and honesty reflecting the industry as it is today,” shared Peewee Reyes-Isidro.

To The Visionary

After the screening and as the evening came to a close, the red carpet was lively with discussion as guests shared their thoughts on the movie with one another. From hot takes to personal opinions, the moment reminded everyone that the movie, just like fashion and any form of art, thrives whenever a community connected by similar interests comes together.

MEGA Presents: The Devil Wears Prada 2 was more than just a movie screening, but a coming together of style, influence, and human creativity. If the latest chapter of Miranda, Andy, Nigel, and Emily taught us anything, it’s that fashion is more than just trends or the whims of the algorithm, but storytelling, culture, identity, and the human beings behind it bringing it to life. That’s all.
