EXCLUSIVE: Mond Gutierrez Reflects a Spectrum of Creative Identity

Its multiplicity in motion—the producer shares how his life is a constant interaction of creativity, confidence, and extravagance, leading up to the Opulence Ball

Switching between identities as though picking out looks from a limitless wardrobe, Mond Gutierrez moves through life like he’s in constant costume change. He’s a host, a creative director, an event producer, and a style setter on varying occasions—sometimes all at the same time. If the space of modern creativity thrives on the multiplicity of personas, then Gutierrez is thriving, straddling roles in entertainment, fashion, and production with no trace of the chaos that usually follows. And in a world that craves definition, the producer makes a case for being undefinable, for being everything, everywhere all at once—and, of course, for wearing it well.

From Every Angle

“You know, I think because each one comes to me naturally,” Gutierrez says when asked how he manages his many hats. There’s no rigid delineation between work and passion, no clocking in and out of roles. “I don’t really wake up in the morning and say, ‘Oh, today I’m an event producer. Today, I’m gonna be a TV host.’ It just happens naturally,” he shrugs, as if carrying multiple identities is as easy as breathing. And why not? For him, it seems to be.

These different personas, like the many versions of himself that the creative has grown into over the years, are less an act of deliberate reinvention and more the natural progression of a man evolving through the very spaces he occupies.

When he started as a TV host, he honed his craft meticulously. “I’m super grateful that I was given that opportunity,” he recalls, though now he’s more behind the scenes, guiding brands and shaping experiences. “I work with a great team,” he adds, and it’s easy to imagine this team as an extension of his many creative selves—like a one-man band playing several instruments in harmony.

It’s this multiplicity that keeps him in high demand, whether curating guest lists for brand events or turning briefs into real-life experiences. “Trust with the client, and us as their agency. That’s number one,” he says, noting how vital it is to elevate a brief into something tangible and, more importantly, memorable. For someone who thrives in reinvention, he knows the power of getting a crowd right, mixing fashion with entertainment, adding just the right dash of intrigue, like a chef seasoning to taste. Suddenly, you see the art of event production as more alchemy than logistics.

“To make an event successful, the first thing you need is a great crowd. Music and lighting are important, but curating a diverse guest list is key—bringing together people from different walks of life, whether it’s entertainment, fashion, the arts, or creatives. That mix is what makes it truly special.”

The Most Opulent Era in Recent History

One of the crown jewels of the host’s ever-expanding empire of creativity is the Opulence Ball—an immersive spectacle that has quickly become the most coveted Halloween event in the country. It began in 2019 as “a beautiful accident,” Gutierrez says. “We didn’t know how big it was going to get.” Now, it’s a moment worth living. People immortalize it in Instagram snapshots that ripple through the social media ether even after the event is over. “The conversation doesn’t stop in one night,” he says, his voice dipping into the sort of hushed tone that signals both excitement and pride. “People are still talking about it for days, weeks, even months.”

This year’s Opulence Ball, themed around ‘70s disco and dubbed “The Velvet Underground”, promises to be the most opulent yet. “We’re going full disco,” he reveals, his eyes lighting up at the mention of mirror balls, glitter, and sequins. “It’s the most opulent era in recent history,” he declares, as though this particular moment in time were waiting for Gutierrez to revive it in all its glamorous glory. With a creative touchpoint that’s part Studio 54, part futuristic fever dream, it’s clear that the Opulence Ball is a fantasy.

Collective Creativity

Beyond the glitz and glam, there’s something else that drives Mond Gutierrez—the community that has rallied around him. “You can’t do everything on your own,” he still admits, crediting his core group of friends, family, and collaborators for pushing him to constantly evolve. “Finding your people, your community, that’s important.” Whether it’s those who believe in his vision or those who push him to keep creating, it’s evident that Mond’s multiplicity thrives not just on individual talent, but on collective creativity.

As the conversation circles back to his creative process, you can’t help but notice that Gutierrez’s many selves are less about wearing different hats and more like shifting reflections in a prism—each angle revealing another vibrant facet, all part of the same gleaming whole. He doesn’t just do one thing at a time—he embodies them all simultaneously. “I think believing in yourself, number one,” he says simply, and you get the sense that it’s this quiet confidence that keeps him grounded, even as he floats between projects, personas, and ballrooms.

Mond Gutierrez asserts his core group is influential in having a strong sense of self

The creative space may be full of shifting identities and evolving trends, but the producer asserts that you don’t have to choose between them. In fact, you can own them all—especially if there’s a little glitter and a lot of glamour involved. And just like that, the many facets of Mond Gutierrez come together in one brilliant, uncontainable whole, a man who wears his multiplicity as effortlessly as a custom suit, tailored to the contours of his creative life.
