Derrick Monasterio, Marco Gumabao and Enzo Pineda Headline This Year’s Best Bodies

By

An issue about the sun and the best of your body isn’t complete without an assemblage of the finest forms. This month, MEGA Man presents its annual list of Best Bodies, bringing together seven fine young men who exemplify what it means to be at their prime—be it physical or otherwise.

What do you order when you are shooting several batches of fine young men with chiselled abs, sharp triceps and enviable pecs (among other highly defined muscle of their bodies, of course)? Boxes and boxes of pizza and fried chicken, of course. No, we aren’t kidding. As is it is with photo shoots, these far from the healthy scale kind of food are a norm. It didn’t help that standing before us were seven young men with chiselled abs, sharp triceps and enviable pecs, among other highly defined muscle of their bodies, of course.

Did we wish we had bodies like them? Yes. Did we regret the slices of oil-laden carbs wolfed down in no time flat? Yes. Did we want to immediately hit the gym after the head-scratching brawn session? Yes. (Some of us actually ran for the nearest fitness center after.)

As it was a display of near-perfect anatomy, the men who fill up the list of the annual Best Bodies tradition (a partnership with Euphoria Maxx) swear by consistent hard work and undeterred discipline. Captured by the lens of Patrick Diokno, Gab Lagman, Marco Gumabao, Jak Roberto, Kiko Estrada, Derrick Monasterio, David Licauco and Enzo Pineda all stood out on their own physical and internal merits. This wasn’t just a surface serving of body. More than anything, it was a ringing reminder that if you want something, you get up, you put in the work and then you keep on doing it even if you’ve already gotten the results you wanted.

In hindsight, we totally wished we had the salad the boys nibbled on in between takes. Well, we’ll try better next time.
