If you’ve been on social media lately, chances are you’d know that there’s a new show currently taking over the trending list, and that is Off Campus. An adaptation of the popular college romance hockey book series of the same name, season one of Off Campus has become the talk of the town, rising to the top of Prime Video’s streaming charts and turning its cast into overnight breakout stars.

What If Maureen Wroblewitz Played Hannah Wells?
Recently, the Filipino-German model, actress, and content creator posted on her TikTok account her audition tape for Off Campus. But it wasn’t just any role she read for, as she filmed a self-tape audition for the lead female character of Hannah Wells. The audition saw her play out a scene as Hannah meeting her musician crush, Justin, at the establishment where she works, and the ensuing awkward conversation that follows. As a fun tidbit, Maureen shared in the comments section that she imagined Hannah meeting Justin as her meeting Harry Styles.
The audition was filmed in February 2025, though whether Maureen advanced further into the audition process or even met some of the cast, she didn’t share. As we all know by now, the role of Hannah went to 19-year-old British actress Ella Bright, who is most known for the UK series Malory Towers, and does a phenomenal job in the part. But Maureen’s audition tape puts into perspective how extensive the search was to find the perfect cast for Off Campus, as well as a peek into the making of a show this big that most viewers won’t see.

There could have been more Filipina actresses who auditioned for the show, after all, whether it was for Hannah or other roles (there’s a Filipino student featured in season one’s Thanksgiving episode). The audition tape is also an interesting peek into what Maureen has been up to since she moved to the US.
Maureen’s journey has taken her places, from winning Asia’s Next Top Model Season 5 to being named first runner-up in Miss Universe Philippines 2021, and she is no stranger to acting as well. In 2021, she made her film acting debut in the movie Runaway, co-starring Kit Thompson, where she played a character who is coincidentally also named Hannah. She’s also appeared in a handful of TV shows.
