College graduation is a milestone every student hopes to achieve. After four, and sometimes more, years of school, papers, exams, and much more, the time has finally come for them to wear their toga, walk on stage, and get their much-deserved diploma. Whether it marks the start of their entry into the “real world” or a stepping stone to further graduate studies, graduating from college will always be a special moment. It’s one that this year’s graduating class is about to bask in, such as Lorin Gutierrez, now that she officially has her college degree.
Lorin Gutierrez Graduates From Seaver College
Many may know Lorin for her famous family, her influencer status, or her social media presence, but the Gen Z personality has also been attending college. In 2021, she moved to the United States to pursue her studies, where she enrolled at Seaver College in Pepperdine University. Since then, she’s been dividing her time between Manila and living independently in Los Angeles, balancing her academics with her work commitments in the Philippines.
Her decision to study abroad came from the fact that she wanted to use the opportunity to introduce herself to people on her own terms and figure out her identity beyond her family name and the spotlight of the local showbiz industry. Now, as part of the Class of 2026, Lorin did it, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Seaver College, which is the liberal arts college of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
For the graduation rites that took place on May 4, Lorin wore a simple yet elegant ivory dress and white heels. Notably, she draped over her toga an academic stole featuring the design of the Philippine flag, a nod to her Filipino heritage.
She also wasn’t alone in receiving her diploma as several of her family members were in attendance, such as her mother Ruffa Gutierrez, who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from Philippine Women’s University in 2022 and is currently enrolled in Master of Communication Arts at the same school, her younger sister Venice, who is also taking up college in the US, and her uncles Mond and Elvis Gutierrez, the latter of whom brought along his daughters Aria and Ezra.
“Watching you grow into the independent young woman you are today has been my greatest joy. You worked so hard for this moment, and you deserve it all. Forever proud of you, Lorin. This is only the beginning,” wrote Ruffa on the caption of her Instagram post celebrating her eldest daughter’s graduation.
What’s next for Lorin, we’ll just have to wait and see, but whatever the young personality decides to do after, it’s going to be the start of a new chapter and one that Lorin is ready to step into as herself.
