DreamWorks’ newest animated film, Forgotten Island, is already shaping up to be a must-watch. Aside from its premise centered on Philippine mythology, the studio has revealed a powerful voice cast, led by three Filipinas who have each made waves on the global stage.

Broadway icon and national treasure Lea Salonga makes her grand return to voice acting, joining actress Liza Soberano, who stars as Raissa. Starring opposite her as Raissa’s best friend Jo is Grammy and Oscar-winning Filipino-American singer H.E.R.


Forgotten Island follows the deep friendship between Raissa and Jo, who find themselves stranded on the mysterious island of Nakali. Their bond runs deep—but when memories and emotions are at stake, even friendship faces the ultimate test.
Joining the ensemble are Dave Franco, Fil-Am actor Manny Jacinto, and Jenny Slate, with the film directed by Joel Crawford and Filipino-American Januel Mercado.

Set to release in 2026, Forgotten Island is already among the most anticipated titles among Filipino audiences—not just for its star-studded cast, but for how it brings Filipino stories and mythology to the global stage. And honestly, it can’t come soon enough.
