There’s something timeless about a good trilogy. It’s a storytelling format that just works, and perhaps no one gets this better than Bang Pineda. Fresh off his widely praised 2024 runway comeback, the Filipino designer is back with his compelling second act. And while his earlier “Oceana, Tennis, and Paris” trilogy drew on place and movement, the lens zoom inward this time in “State of Bang”. Instead, the show shifts toward existentialism.

Curiosity, Transition, and Rebellion

Long dubbed as a pioneer of elevated streetwear, Pineda now ventures into murkier, more philosophical waters. The collection plays out like a visual essay in three parts, beginning with “White Noise”. Here, monochromatic silhouettes flip the script on purity—less about blank slates, more about curiosity under pressure. Structured pieces meet moments of sheer fragility, and in that clash, something honest emerges.
Then comes “In the Gray”. This chapter leans into ambiguity through unfinished textures and raw seams. Essentially, garments that feel like they’re still figuring themselves out. It’s messy, but that’s the point.
Finally, “Off Grid” closes the loop with reimagined denim. But more than that, it’s a quiet but firm refusal to play by the rules, suggesting that real liberation lies somewhere off the prescribed map.

More than a follow-up, the themes of the approaching “State of Bang” affirm that Bang Pineda is ready to push forward. The Filipino designer now reveals himself to be an artist who is unafraid to question the frame itself. And in doing so, his upcoming looks might just resonate with the introspective and the thoughtful on a personal level.
“State of Bang” will be staged at Tower One and Exchange Plaza, Ayala Triangle Gardens on October 22, 2025.
