Tiffany & Co. unveiled Bird on a Rock by Tiffany in Bangkok, a collection that reimagines Jean Schlumberger’s most celebrated motif for a new era. To introduce it, the luxury jewelry house turned to Friend of the House Anne Curtis, who wore both the new Bird on a Rock necklace and ring, giving the world its first glimpse of Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille’s visionary reinterpretation.

As one of Tiffany’s most celebrated friends in the Philippines, the actress’ jewelry choices for the evening paid homage to the visionary designer whose work remains some of the most intricate and iconic in the world. Schlumberger, a self-taught artist born into a family of textile merchants in Alsace, France, brought an imaginative approach to jewelry that turned flora, fauna, and even whimsical motifs into timeless treasures.

Around her neck is an interpretation of the Bird on a Rock necklace and through her finger lies the new Bird on the Rock ring, where the visionary touch of Verdeille has reimagined Schlumberger’s playful bird motif into something strikingly modern.

A New Bird Takes Flight

The designs itself bridges legacy and reinvention. Its two high jewelry suites center on Tiffany’s famed tanzanites—introduced by the House in 1968—and turquoise, a gemstone long woven into the brand’s design heritage.

In fine jewelry, the motif takes flight: figurative birds rendered with craftsmanship that mirrors their high jewelry counterparts, and abstracted “Wings” set with diamonds so seamlessly they appear to hover in the air.

Anne Curtis’ appearance crystallized the collection’s essence. Minimal in silhouette, maximal in effect. Just her, the canvas; the necklace and the ring, the statements. In her presence, Schlumberger’s fantastical bird—reborn through Verdeille’s hand—was an emblem of a mystical figure: of flight, of renewal, of Tiffany’s enduring dialogue between imagination and craft.
