Maita Hagad’s artistry knows no limits. Paintings, sculptures, archival curations, fabrics—she moves seamlessly between mediums, a result of growing up in a family of creatives. Her grandmother was an artist, her parents are architects, and her older sister is a fashion designer. Art, for Hagad, is simply in her blood.

All Things Design

Earning a single bachelor’s degree is an achievement in itself, but for Hagad, it’s only the beginning.

Determined to learn as much as she can, the multidisciplinary artist studied Fashion Design & Merchandising at Career Academy Asia, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, and completed a certificate in Landscape Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design—where she will soon pursue her Master’s in Landscape Architecture.

Like a true creative, she never stops learning. By exploring multiple disciplines, Hagad continues to deepen her creative perspective and enrich her artistic practice.

Archival Storytelling

Captivated by material history and the intimacy of craftsmanship, Hagad began curating vintage jewelry and archival pieces for The Library: an intimate store offering pre-owned and carefully selected vintage items through explorations of material archives.

To her, materiality are stories and intangible experiences, shaped by forms to be made sense for the material world.

She is Art

For Hagad, art isn’t limited by the tool in her hand—whether it’s a paintbrush, needle and thread, or pencil. She becomes art herself, moving her body to express emotion while embodying the distinct material language and compelling language of designers.

Drawn to sartorial storytelling, she expands her artistry through modelling—using her form to create shapes and evoke feeling through the pieces of art she wears.

Maita Hagad proves that art isn’t limited to its canvas, medium, or discipline. Whether intertwining fabric with thread, curating vintage archives, or embodying a designer’s vision, she navigates the creative world with intention, purpose, and a deep respect for the stories embedded in materials. To her, the pursuit of learning and creating is a lifelong journey, and it’s far from over.
