Not feeling the holidays this year? That’s okay. Whatever you’re going through, it’s valid. Here’s what you can do to cheer yourself up a bit
We can all agree that 2024 has been a year. While the holidays feel like we should be celebrating and joining the festivities, it’s okay to go against the current and bed rot all day. Be honest with yourself and admit that you’re not up to celebrating this year. If anything, acknowledging your feelings is the first step to coping with the holiday blues.

Keep In Touch
One of the best ways to cope with the holiday blues is to stay connected with your loved ones. At times when you’re feeling down, who are the people who know you enough to understand you and support you? Your family, friends, and partner. Whether it’s catching up, talking about your feelings, or just vibing with their presence to ease off the feeling of loneliness this holiday season.

Create Healthy Habits
While it’s inevitable to rot in bed and doom-scroll all day, please don’t make it into a habit. Stick to a routine—whether it’s your skincare routine, starting the day with a cup of coffee, drinking your daily vitamins, or going for a run every other night, healthy habits turn into a healthy routine. That way, even when you feel off, you don’t succumb to the overwhelming feeling of loss.

Build New Traditions
A great way of coping with the holiday blues is starting new traditions, you don’t have to celebrate with parties and drinking! Sometimes, watching holiday movies, drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows and yelling “cheers!” by the strike of midnight, or maybe treating yourself to a shopping spree at the end of the year is celebratory enough. The holidays don’t have to be a season you dread. Instead, you can celebrate the holidays however or wherever you want.
