If there’s one reel love team that’s a favorite of many Filipinos, it’s Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

With their blockbuster hits such as One More Chance, Miss You Like Crazy, Now That I Have You, and more, the two have definitely solidified their place as one of the most iconic tandems of the 2000s – and there might be a chance of reunion.

Though the two have remained friends throughout the years, numerous other projects and different networks have kept them apart in the industry. But with John Lloyd’s recent move to GMA, the stars could be in favor of a comeback.

Bea’s GMA welcome to John Lloyd

In a video greeting to welcome the actor to the new network, Bea pointed out that perhaps they were indeed destined to work together.

Hi Idan, ito na naman tayo, magkasama na naman tayo. Mukhang totoo yata ‘yung sinabi nila na magkadugtong ‘yung bituka nating dalawa,” Bea began.

“I cannot wait for everyone to see and experience the greatness of a John Lloyd Cruz just like I did through the years,” she said. “You know that I will forever be your biggest fan and congratulations [on] your new show, and I will see you very, very soon.”

What happened to their Star Magic movie?

In case you didn’t know, the two stars were slated to star in a Star Cinema film directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina titled “No Goodbyes.” The project was first announced in October of 2020, before John Lloyd made his showbiz comeback with GMA.

The movie was set to film in Florence, Italy but the pandemic continued.

When Garcia-Molina was asked if the project will continue with Bea and John Lloyd just this November, she answered: “Hindi ko po alam kung ano yung internal agreement nila. Ang alam ko noon po, dapat gagawan ko sila. But now, I don’t know.”

A cheesy reunion

Meanwhile, it seems like the two know just how much their fans miss them, as they recently did an ad with a local fast-food chain that hinted at a revival of their on-screen love story.

In the video, the two can be seen eating the chain’s food offerings while having a meaningful conversation.

John Lloyd first asked his leading lady: “Kamusta puso mo?” To which they talk about their past relationships and how they kept close through the years.

At the end of the video, the actor hints at an upcoming project and asks Bea if she’s sure.

She answered with: “Nag-yes na ‘ko, diba?”

What do you think this project will be?
