It was all smiles and buoyant sunny days at the American Outfitters’ Spring/Summer 2018 show. Models danced and walked the energetic runway with huge floaters in shape of pineapples, flamingoes, unicorns and rainbows clutched onto each’s arm. Known for their cool and easy-going ensembles, American Outfitters showcased tropical prints, beach shorts, off-the shoulder and crochet tops, frilly dresses, topped off with accessories perfect for your next beach trip to La Union or Siargao.

Once you open the runways to the beat of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All The Stars,” you immediately know that it’s a striking collection to witness. For their Spring/Summer line, HUMAN took a more street-ready route that reminded us of the small town Calabasas, most popularized by Kanye West. It was all about side striped pants, variations of denim in light wash, tattered and cropped, sweaters and tees emblazoned with statements, slides worn with patterned and plain socks, combat boots, and the classic white shoe.
3. TOKYO STREET STYLE DOMINATRIX at PR()BLEM by Jenni Contreras

To use euphoric as a term that describes PR()BLEM’s collection is an understatement. It was a visual feast infested with Asian street style & bondage inspirations. Opening the show in no less than a kimono and corseted top with a huge chain necklace, was a girl latched onto her samurai sword. Her strength and dominance set the ambiance for the rest of the show. It was a collection that boasted powerful patchwork, clashing prints, asymmetrical exaggerated cuts, accentuated by silver hardware-inspired accessories, Contreras’ latest collaboration with jewelry brand Equation.
4. COLOR-BLOCKED SOPHISTICATION at RANDOLF

Dominating the runways was a theme of irony and juxtaposition at Randolf. Veering away from prosaic gray scales, it was all about bold brights in shades of red, green and blue with one ensemble directly paying homage to the peak of pop art, Andy Warhol’s “Marilyn Monroe” piece and a statement jacket with renaissance painter Michelangelo’s “The Creation” at the back. Randolf gets graphic and courageously aims for prints that seek to command attention. One thing that notably went hand in hand with his colorized artistry was the denim redux that came in contrasting washes and cuts.
5. HEAD ABOVE THE CLOUDS at JAGGY GLARINO

Who would’ve thought that walking in sleepwear and pillows barefoot would make such a grand entrance? No one else other than Jaggy can make anything (even sleeping!) look glamorous and elegant. Perfect tailoring paired with free flowing and out of ordinary fabrics is one arduous task but he masterfully navigates through all other impossibilities. Each ensemble was carefully crafted as masterpieces and came in forms of frills, linear prints, oversized sleeves, and structured corsets and sent us all into dreamland.
