We don’t get Filipino K-pop idols every day, so when a group has not one, but two Filipinos as members, it gets our attention. And that was the case for girl group UNIS. Formed through the reality competition show Universe Ticket, the program saw two Filipinas, Gehlee Dangca and Elisia Parmisano, compete, and they quickly proved themselves as worthy contestants. It’s no surprise then that they made it all the way to the end, where they were included in the final lineup of UNIS in March 2024.
Unfortunately, their time as a group came to an end when UNIS’ contract with F&F Entertainment expired, leading to the group’s disbandment after two and a half years in September 2026. It’s a sad conclusion for the K-pop girl group, but there is light at the end of the tunnel for the members, and that includes Gehlee and Elisia. As they say, when one door closes, another opens, and the two young Filipinas are already gearing up for a new chapter of their careers, one that has already taken them to the world stage as K-pop idols.

Gehlee Dangca – Making Moves With Her Solo Career

Between the two, Gehlee Dangca’s career post-UNIS is the more fleshed out. Following the group’s disbandment, Dangca returned to the Philippines with the goal of embarking on a career as a solo artist. After spending the past three years in South Korea, she now looks to her homeland to continue her journey as a performer. To that end, Dangca will continue her partnership with Universal Records Philippines as her recording label while GLXY Talent Management, the talent management arm of Universal Records, and Star Horizon TV Production will oversee her management in the country.
Already, she’s been making inroads in the local entertainment scene with collaborations with content creators as well as starting her own Twitter account, which has already amassed more than 75,000 followers, indicating her growing fanbase and that the hype to see more of the young performer is there. And there’s a reason why. She first captured international attention through Universe Ticket, where she ultimately secured the fourth debut spot among the eight members selected to form UNIS. As a K-pop idol, Dangca routinely went viral on social media for the displays of her it-girl energy, personality, and openness in sharing her opinions and talking to fans.
It’s these years in the spotlight, experience, and training as an idol that she takes with her in this new chapter. Even before moving to Korea, Dangca had experience in pageantry and modeling, so the stage was never a stranger to her. While music and performing are the obvious paths forward for the young star, Dangca has said that she is not closing her doors on acting opportunities. But what might be more interesting is that Dangca might be going on TV for an entirely different reason: as a contestant on Pinoy Big Brother.
With PBB Collab season 3 set to air beginning October 24, the show has been teasing its new lineup of contestants. Fans and netizens have speculated that one of the housemates is Dangca, and if it is true, it would make for a bold move after life as a K-pop idol, but also present new opportunities. She would enter the house with name recognition and a fanbase ready to support her. Dangca also has more than enough talent and personality to shine on the show on her own without having to rely on trends to make the audience fall in love with her and introduce herself to a new generation of fans.
It’s almost like a reverse Sandara Park situation where instead of joining a local reality TV program and then becoming a K-pop idol, Dangca first became a K-pop idol and then joined a reality competition show. Also, if she really is a housemate on the new season, it would make for an oddly ironic situation, as Dangca has talked about hypothetically joining PBB in the past and said that she probably wouldn’t do well because of the short time limit housemates have for the shower.
Regardless of what ends up happening, Dangca is on the fast track as one to watch. Beyond her showbiz career, the Gen Z artist’s return to the Philippines is so that she can also complete her studies, which just goes to show that even K-pop idols see finishing school as a priority.
Elisia Parmisano – Young, Talented, and Full of Potential

It’s a known fact that Filipinos often do well on international competition shows, and that includes K-pop reality competition programs. Along with her fellow Filipina Gehlee, Elisia Parmisano appeared on Universe Ticket as a star in the making. Case in point: not only did she make the final lineup, but she was also ranked 1st overall. With that much talent and potential, the sky’s the limit for what the Gen Z performer will do next. And speaking of which, Parmisano has kept her future career plans close to her chest so far.
After UNIS’ disbandment, she was relatively quiet on social media, which led some to speculate that she may have been accepted by a different K-pop company or was going back into training to redebut in another girl group. But recently, Parmisano returned to the Philippines, and it’s unclear whether it’s for a break or vacation before flying back to Korea or a more permanent stay. If it is the latter, though, there are still plenty of opportunities for Parmisano to pursue locally.
Top of the list is a career as a solo artist, which she is more than capable of and probably won’t have a difficult time finding management to represent her. She also has acting experience before moving to Korea, so it won’t be hard to imagine her back on the big and small screen. Whichever way her path ultimately leads next, it will be exciting to see how her new era forms, whether that be in the Philippines or abroad. Parmisano is immensely talented, and her potential does not deserve to be wasted.
