MEGA’s own Daniel Reyes and Mika Reyes show how you can rock the Christmas season in style
We are now at the last leg of the year, which means that it’s time to bring out our comfortable sweaters, jackets, and coats that are just perfect for the cool December weather. Experiencing a cold and breezy holiday season may be a touch-and-go situation, but it doesn’t mean we still can’t dress for a white Christmas we’re all yearning for. UNIQLO’s recently released Fall/Winter Collection for 2020 covers all bases with their pieces that aren’t just snazzy, but extremely warm and cozy as well. Just recently, Daniel Reyes and Mika Reyes, MEGA’s Associate Fashion Editor and Beauty & Features Writer respectively, even showcased some of the collection’s pieces to everyone on UNIQLO’s Facebook page–highlighting four of the brand’s top lines, namely HEATTECH, UKTRA LIGHT DOWN (ULD), SWEATS, and 3D KNITS.

We’re all for feeling warm and cozy
The first outfit that Daniel picked out for Mika was a look that was truly evocative of the holiday spirit, emphasizing the color red with UNIQLO’s HEATTECH fleece turtleneck long-sleeve top, a flannel A-line long-sleeve shirt dress, a pair of maroon Airism soft leggings, a wide black leather belt, a black wool beret, and a pair of peachy-toned pointed flat shoes. This look definitely got Mika feeling ready to take the romantic streets of Paris by storm–hypothetically, that is.
Meanwhile, what Mika created for Daniel matched what she was wearing, starting with the brand’s dark blue soft-touch turtleneck long-sleeve top, an oversized light blue +J Supima cotton stand collar long-sleeve shirt, a pair of dark grey ultra stretch active joggers, and a pair of classic white cotton canvas sneakers. Despite wearing a shirt that was bigger than what he would normally put on, Daniel still felt chic and confident that he pulled it off.
Definitely down for some ULTRA LIGHT DOWN
For the second pair of outfits that the fashion-forward duo created with UNIQLO’s 2020 Fall/Winter Collection, Mika rocked a monochromatic look with a white ULTRA LIGHT DOWN cocoon parka, a white denim long-sleeve long shirt dress, and a pair of trendy nude kitten heels. According to her, “[The jacket] is super cute and very, very versatile,” emphasizing the ULD line’s pieces that can be worn on any type of day.
After sharing her thoughts, it came to no surprise that she also picked a nude ULD parka for Daniel to wear, along with a navy green Heattech ultra warm long-sleeve top, a pair of khaki ultra stretch joggers, and the same pair of white sneakers. With how flexible ULD is, Daniel rhetorically asked, “What more can we ask for?” These sets of outfits can even be worn for local travel to colder places here in the Philippines.
Sweater game strong
The next pair of outfits covered by UNIQLO’s 2020 Fall/Winter Collection definitely got Daniel and Mika testing the viewers’ sweater game since they showcased how to elevate it and take it to the next level. Daniel started Mika’s look with a classic and extremely comfortable grey ultra stretch dry sweat pullover hoodie, followed by a pair of green satin shorts, a sleek brown cashmere blend chester coat, a nude twill cap, a pair of mustard yellow HEATTECH socks, and ended it with the same pair of kitten heels from the previous look. This made Mika feel as if she was already starring in her own K-drama with the incredibly chic outfit.
For Daniel’s overall look, Mika chose to style him with a white full-zip hoodie, a black U fleece shirt jacket to wear over it, a pair of textured grey ankle pants, and also the white sneakers from his previous outfit. Despite the simplicity, it still looked elevated and sophisticated compared to the usual hoodie-over-pants outfit that a lot are already wearing almost everyday.
Three-dimensional is the way to go
For the last two looks that MEGA’s own stylish team created, UNIQLO’s 3D KNITS from the collection were highlighted. Mika ended up with a white 3D cotton v-neck puff half-sleeve sweater, a light purple 3D KNIT cotton boat-neck sweater on top of it, a pair of essential black smart ankle pants, a cozy white wool blend brushed scarf, and a pair of kitten heels. However, it didn’t seem complete for Daniel. With that, he topped it off with a cute purple HEATTECH knitted cap or beanie that just made the entire look even more cohesive.
Something more “chill” was what Mika was envisioning for Daniel’s final outfit. She started with an off-white U crew neck sweater a-la-Chris Evans on Knives Out, another turtleneck that gave off a brown shade with an orange undertone, black ultra stretch active joggers, and mustard yellow socks to go with the white sneakers for that pop of color. With how snug the pieces were, Daniel even mentioned that he can comfortably sleep wearing his last look.
