It’s not disappointment that laces her tone, but a steady drive. Skye doesn’t dwell on missteps, she studies them. In her world, progress isn’t measured against anyone else’s medal count, but against yesterday’s version of herself. “Success is looking at yourself and knowing, and feeling, that you’re getting better each day,” she explains. “Yung kalaban mo lang talaga is yourself [Your real competition is with yourself].”
The thing is, Skye isn’t only chasing perfection on the ice, she’s also chasing it under the glare of studio lights. At just 22, she’s already balancing two fiercely demanding worlds: the exacting discipline of figure skating and the unpredictable hustle of show business. “I love trying to be perfect,” she says with a small laugh. “Kahit alam ko na [Even if I know that] I’m not… I try my best.”

Her life often feels like a series of quick costume changes. Take last August, when the GMA Gala collided with competition week. “Before the gala, I had training. Morning training, then shower, everything, makeup, then Gala, and then shoot,” she recalls. “The next day, early morning training again and then I competed in the afternoon.”
If it sounds exhausting, Skye makes it seem effortless, maybe because she’s been in love with the ice since she was five, when she first saw skaters twirling at SM Megamall. Her acting journey began much later, with her debut in Hearts on Ice, the country’s first-ever figure skating series and has since expanded to roles in Black Rider, Pulang Araw, and Sang’gre.

“The more shows I get into, the more I learn,” she says. “I work with different directors and different people. I just hope I get to spend more time working on my craft… I want to get to that point where I can look back and say, ‘Wow, I gave it my all.’”
Long-term, Skye sees herself stepping onto bigger international skating stages though she knows her body comes first. She’s nursing a back injury that’s lingered for almost a year, one she’s determined to heal fully before pushing further. And yet, even in recovery, she’s plotting: strength training, endurance work and more scripts and scenes.

That’s the thing about Skye, whether she’s in skates or in front of the camera, she’s not interested in being good enough. She wants to be great and she’ll smile her way through every leap, spin, and scene until she gets there.
