That was the choice Mika Salamanca had laid out for herself in 2024. Years of building an online empire as one of the country’s most recognizable vloggers had been overshadowed by controversy: a 2020 arrest in Hawaii for breaking quarantine protocols, followed by a wave of public backlash that left her confidence in pieces.
