This is an excerpt from MEGA October 2025 Artist Confidential
Lourd Ramos is unafraid. Of working hard. Of carving his own path. Of dreaming big and then plunging headlong into his artistry to pursue those dreams. He doesn’t fear change, either. Embracing change rather than resisting it, the award-winning stylist has mastered the art of navigating industry shake-ups and the shifting tides of generational influence.

Steadfast, pursed-lip resilience and relentless ambition have served Lourd Ramos wellover the last 25 years. These sterling qualities continue to fuel his path to becoming one of the country’s most prolific hairstylists. In that time, Lourd has represented prestigious global brands in the Philippines and abroad, showed off his prowess at international competitions, collaborated with celebrities, partnered with renowned photographers and contributed to every major fashion publication in the nation. The award-winning stylist has also mentored aspiring models on a regional reality competition show and launched his own chain of salons—all while continuously pushing the boundaries of his craft.
And because Lourd’s bravura extends beyond professional achievements, the award-win- ning stylist is also a champion for LGBTQ rights in the Philippines and has challenged ageist stereo- types by competing in pageants in his 40s.

As he celebrates 25 years in the biz, the İColor and DavinesPh HairCare Expert and Denman Global Ambassador has put together a passion project that explores the full scope of his creative vision. A collection of photographs featuring his most iconic hair styles, from sculptural coifs to elegant upsweeps, was recently exhibited at the SoFA Design Institute at Rock- well Proscenium. Captured by his trusted collaborators,
these images embody boldness, daring, and ambition— just like Lourd himself.
In an interview with MEGA, Lourd reflects on how life’s serendipitous moments have shaped his journey in the last two and a half decades, leading him through moments of struggle and triumph alike.
CONGRATULATIONS ON 25 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE ACHIEVED SUCH A MILESTONE? DID YOU EVER DREAM THAT YOU’D STILL BE DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING NOW AFTER 25 YEARS?

I can’t believe it myself. I can’t believe I’ve made it this far and can still relate to the next generation. I’m alive and still serving my clientele and publications still believe in my work. There have been times when I wanted to pursue a culinary profession and become a blogger. But then, a client gets a cut and color from me, and I see happy faces, referrals come in and I’m once again aligned with my purpose to beautify and spread happiness.
WE HEAR YOU’RE CELEBRATING BY COMING OUT WITH A PROJECT CALLED IMPRINT 2. PLEASE TELL US MORE ABOUT IT.

Imprint 2 is a photo exhibit that I’m doing in collabora- tion with SoFA. I’m known for both couture and runway hairstyles, so it will feature recreations of award-win- ning styles that I did for international competitions: Da- vines World Style Contest in Barcelona Spain (2005), Schwarzkopf Asia Hairdressing Award (2006) where I won 5th place and the Wella TrendVision Award where I won the silver medal for two consecutive years (2006 and 2007).
The photos will be collated into a calendar, which will be sold. Proceeds from sales will go to charity institutions like Golden Gays and Bahay Kahirup.
WHO ARE FEATURED IN THE BOOK AND WHO ARE YOU COLLABORATING WITH?

I collaborated with eight of my favorite photographers: Dix Perez, Xander Angeles, Belg Belgica, Jayson Isaac, Mark Neto Diaz, Jomar Franche, John Carlo Satenia- man and Holly Navarro. I partnered with SoFA be- cause I believe in their vision and their use of educa- tion to promote both art and creativity. The exhibit will showcase the creations of their students who worked with my muses, including Suzie Abrera, Issa Litton, Katrina Llegado, Maureen Montagne, Xeng Zulueta and a lot more.
