In today’s shifting global pop landscape, where sounds, boundaries, and breakthroughs can be made no matter where you are, Southeast Asia is home to a growing roster of female voices that are taking the sound of pop and Southeast Asia to new heights.
Some of these groups have been active for years, others just debuted on the scene, but they all offer something exciting to watch. Girl groups will always be a favorite of many after all, and these ladies deliver. BINI (Philippines)

Since 2021, Jhoanna, Mikha, Aiah, Maloi, Colet, Sheena, Gwen, and Stacey have been taking over playlists and social media feeds with their uber catchy bubblegum pop hits. The young ladies of BINI combine the sensibilities of being a modern binibini with the polish of an idol group to make a girl group fit for the new generation of Filipinas. With hits like Salamin, Salamin, Pantropiko, Karera, and more, BINI is taking over. In 2026, they’re set to step on their biggest stage yet when they perform at Coachella 2026 this April, becoming the first Filipino group to do so.
No Na (Indonesia)

Debuting in April 2025, Christy, Esther, Baila, and Shaz, collectively known as no na, stormed onto the scene with the certified earworm that is shoot and the energy of an Indonesian girl group ready for the global stage and international stardom. Signed under 88rising, the group gets its name from the Indonesian word “nona”, which translates to “lady” or “miss”. The young ladies represent a slice of the cultural and regional diversity of Indonesia while blending R&B and pop with soulful, dance-driven energy.
4EVE (Thailand)

When you think of Thai girl groups, 4EVE should be on the list. There is a reason they were invited to perform at 88rising’s Head in the Clouds music festival in 2025 in Los Angeles, becoming the first T-pop group to do so. Composed of members Mind, Jorin, Taaom, Hannah, Fai, Punch, and Aheye, 4EVE (which is a combination of the words “forever” and “Eve”) was formed following the competition show Girl Group Star and made their official debut in 2020.
Over the years, the seven-member girl group established a reputation for their blend of T-pop, hip-hop, and R&B with catchy beats and high-energy choreography. As further proof of the group’s growing influence, the members have also branched out into other fields, such as acting, modeling, and fashion endorsements.
DOLLA (Malaysia)

What happens when you make a girl group filled with baddies? You’ll probably get something like the Malaysian girl group DOLLA. Composed of members Sabronzo, Tabby, and Angel, the trio made their debut in 2019 under Universal Music Malaysia and became a fan favorite in their homeland with hits such as MWA and Bad. Their strengths in vocals, rap, and dance are evident, which is made even better by their female empowerment energy and fierce confidence despite how culturally conservative Malaysia can be. Adding to their recognition, DOLLA was chosen as the Malaysian representative on the Chinese girl group survival program Show It All.
PiXXie (Thailand)

Together, Mabelz, Pimma, and Ingkho form the Thai girl group PiXXie, which is a mix of Pixie and XX, which represents the chromosomes that identify the female sex. Making their official debut in 2021, the group combines the ethereal fantasy and whimsy of their name with strong performances in their catchy pop songs and striking choreography. These ladies have that magical girl group dust, which makes it no surprise that they’ve performed for sold-out crowds in their home country and even in China where they were invited to perform on the girl group survival program Show It All.
G22 (Philippines)

The members of G22, AJ, Alfea, and Jaz, embody the group’s spirit of empowerment and unapologetic confidence. Dubbed the “Female Alphas” of P-pop, G22 lives up to that moniker with their impressive skills, powerful vocals, attention-grabbing stage presence, and diverse discography. One moment, you’ll be grooving to One Sided Love and in the next pumping your fist in the air with Pa-Pa-Pa Palaban.
Alala (Thailand)

This four-member girl group under White Fox is ready for the stage, as signified by how their name is based on an Ancient Greek battle cry. Minnie, Meji, Im, and Kris made their debut in October 2022 with the single Not A Chance and have been making a name for themselves with confident pop bangers and a polished pop girl group aesthetic. The ladies dropped their debut studio album, Girls Era, just last year, and it’s a must-listen for new fans.
LUNAS (Vietnam)

Composed of members Trang Pháp, Diệp Lâm Anh, Huyền Baby, Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc, and Khổng Tú Quỳnh, LUNAS was formed through five chosen contestants from the show Sisters Who Make Waves Vietnam Season 1. Their name is taken from the initials of Libertas, Urania, Nyx, Artemis, and Selene, five Roman goddesses. The Vietnamese girl group made their official debut in 2024 and has shown promise with their girl crush concept and blend of pop and electronic, as showcased in their singles Moonlight and Hoa Xương Rồng.
DNA (Philippines)

One of the newest P-pop girl groups on the scene, DNA is composed of sisters Tasha, Julia, and Ezri Mitra and made their debut in October 2025 with Don’t Ask Me Why. The trio comes from a storied family, as their father is musical director Raul Mitra and their mother is singer Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, while their aunt is OPM legend Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. But despite their famous last name, DNA is focused on carving their own path in the industry, and already, they’ve been proving their worth with performances and appearances at numerous variety shows and programs.
Quadlips (Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia)

What makes Quadlips special is that it is a musical unit composed of members from the sister groups of global supergroup AKB48. Specifically, the group’s lineup consists of some of the top Southeast Asian members. Currently, the members are FENI (JKT48), COLE (MNL48), FAME (BNK48), and MASHIRO (KLP48), and they made their debut in 2023. A first of its kind in the AKB48 universe, Quadlips offers a diverse, powerful lineup that champions diversity and excellence through their growing discography of catchy tunes and solid performances.
