“Too thicc for your narrow mind? Think you missed the point.” Ria Atayde is one tough cookie as she captions this in her recent post after a few close minded people had a thing or two to say against her most daring campaign for a whisky brand as its calendar girl
Earlier this week, MEGA Entertainment was invited to attend the launch event of Ria Atayde’s calendar spread. In the campaign, Ria donned an all white look accentuating her vivacious curves as she confidently said, “We’re out to prove that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. You can be wholesome and sexy.” For her latest project, the actress was clad in red, white, black outfits for the calendar.

In the event, Ria admitted that she had a bout with body dysmorphia when she was younger. But now in her 20s, she is learning to love herself more for who she is and how she looks. “I’d been lying if I said that I didn’t get affected by all of that. I recalibrate my mindset and if I workout, I workout not because I want to lose weight, but because I love my body.”

The drama actress also hopes to send a message to girls who can relate to her, and that it may instill confidence. Ria also had this to say: “I never thought I would see myself as a calendar girl. Kaya ko pala. It reinstills confidence.”

When asked about how she keeps a strong and powerful mindset in pushing all the negativity away, Ria shared that her secret weapon to loving herself more is a having strong core group, a supportive family, and caring boyfriend. “Generally, they’re very supportive. Hinahayaan lang nila ako to decide. There were no discussions.” Meahwhile, she had this to say about fellow actor and boyfriend, Zanjoe Marudo: “He’s been very supportive of everything I do.”
