There are a lot of things you can do when you’re in New York City. For some people, that means living their Breakfast at Tiffany’s fantasy by recreating the movie’s most memorable scene of the main character, Holly Golightly, having breakfast outside a Tiffany & Co. store. Such is the case for Anne Curtis, who included recreating the famous scene in her busy schedule during her latest trip to The Big Apple. But the moment proved even more special, not just because Curtis referenced a famous pop culture moment, but also because of what it meant to the superstar.

A Special Memory
Anne Curtis recently added to her list of iconic cinema moments when she posted on her Instagram her recreation of the iconic opening scene from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Made in collaboration with Of Becoming Us, which is composed of creative partners Alithea Castillo and Kim Tin, the video finds the actress embodying Audrey Hepburn as she’s dressed in Golightly’s signature black dress, gloves, and shades, and enjoys her croissant and coffee outside a Tiffany & Co. store window before walking away as an instrumental of the film’s signature song, Moon River, plays in the background.
The project was made even better by the fact that the video was a tribute to her late father, James Ernest Curtis-Smith, who passed away in January. As she shared in the caption, Breakfast at Tiffany’s was a movie they both adored, and twelve years ago, her dad filmed Curtis recreating the scene. “He bought my coffee and a croissant, playing the role he jokingly claimed as his own, my ‘propsman’,” she wrote on Instagram.
@pm1273 In 2013, Anne and her dad first recreated the scene. Fast forward to 2026, she recreated the same scene again as a tribute to her dad. #annecurtis #audreyhepburn #breakfastattiffanys #moonriver @annecurtissmith ♬ original sound – pm1306
Fast forward to 2026, and Curtis recreated the scene once more, but this time she returned to Fifth Avenue as an official Tiffany & Co. ambassador. The moment was also a long time coming, as there were plans back in 2023 for Castillo and Curtis to recreate the scene when the latter became a Tiffany & Co. ambassador, but it fell through since she couldn’t squeeze it into her schedule then. Three years later, they finally made it happen.
Initially, Curtis was hesitant to redo the opening scene because of the emotional weight that still lingers from her father’s loss. But she eventually agreed, seeing it as a great way to honor a man she deeply loved. “At first, I hesitated… but then I realized how beautiful it would be to relive it once more…this time, as a tribute,” she said, calling her father her “dearest, huckleberry friend.” The moment meant a lot to Curtis, who welled up with tears when Castillo showed her the final video for the first time.
@alitheacastillo In 2013, @Anne Curtis recreated the #breakfastattiffanys scene with her dad who shot it for her in NYC 🥺 Cut to 2026, I asked Anne if we can recreate it again at the same location.. but now as a Tiffany ambassador and as a beautiful homage to her late father 🕊️ Here’s her reaction to seeing it for the first time 🥹 #annecurtis #annecurtissmith #audreyhepburn #moonriver 🤳@thestreetsensei ♬ original sound – alithea
Curtis’s latest trip to New York City was an eventful one, to say the least. She was in the city as one of the guests at the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Gala, where she stunned in a custom navy blue Mark Bumgarner gown. And now, she reenacted a classic movie moment that’s rooted in a personal and special memory. Not only did it showcase Curtis’s evolution from fan to Tiffany & Co. ambassador, but it was also a way to heal and honor the people we hold dear in our hearts, even if they are no longer with us.
