Under the creative direction of fashion stylists Rain Dagala and EM Millan, the group’s outfits were crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail. In an exclusive interview with MEGAStyle, Rain revealed the intricate details and inspirations behind the outfits, highlighting the blend of traditional Philippine garments and contemporary streetwear.
SB19’s fashionable tribute

SB19’s tribute to the arts at the National Arts Month celebration was very evident as they successfully embodied the spirit of the event through fashion. The group’s outfits were a creative translation of the message that the NCCA wanted to convey through this year’s theme, “Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing.”
The celebration aimed to showcase the diverse cultural expressions of Filipinos and celebrate the abundance of artistic talent that the country has to offer. SB19’s fashion statement captured the essence of the event, highlighting the excellence of Filipino artists in the art industry.
According to SB19’s stylist, the organization and the ambassador were impressed with the group’s fashionable tribute to the arts. The unique and stylish outfits not only drew the audience’s attention, but also prompted the committee to approach the boys backstage to get a closer look at their fits. The positive feedback and admiration were a testament to the styling team’s successful collaboration.
The collaborative effort
Traditional Filipino garments have long been used in the fashion industry to highlight the country’s rich culture. Even so, when SB19’s team was given the task of showcasing our heritage through fashion, they realized that it needed to be more fun, hip, and relatable to today’s Filipino youth. This challenge inspired the idea of incorporating indigenous fabrics into modern streetwear.

“We believe that great work always comes with clarity of thought, and what we all present is a synergy of different thoughts and ideas.”
Stylist Rain Dagala on the magic behind the styling process
The outfits showcased in this collection are the brainchild of some exceptionally creative individuals. Maison Soriano, a talented young designer, deconstructed the pieces and blended them with statement prints and unconventional silhouettes. The stylists used Team Manila’s base look—mentioning them as their major inspiration for the brand’s take on referencing the Philippine history and culture. SB19’s outfits were combined with Binakul fabrics made modern by Namnama Philippines. Meanwhile, Fern Garcia’s androgynous pieces and White Friday’s hand-painted jeans were incorporated to complete the looks.
Apart from achieving unique pieces, the team also showcased each member’s personality to bring their vision to life, as they have different preferences in fashion. With their final looks being the result of creative minds working together, the team always made sure that each member felt their best on stage.
Empowering Filipino youth

The fashion imagery of SB19 is a prime example of the power of vision and a desire to evolve. As Rain Dagala collaborates with the P-Pop group, they understand the importance of these values, creating a style that is strengthened by this school of thought. With Rain Dagala and EM Millan’s team as a reliable partner in bringing the group’s vision to life, SB19 empowers the youth through fashion and beyond. By wearing custom-made outfits for National Arts Month, the group continuously aims to convey messages that challenge people’s perceptions and societal norms.
For the last part of SB19’s celebration of National Arts Month, their unique styles are meant to encourage young people to follow a vision that is always changing, growing, and leading the way for the next generation.
