A rundown of designs from the second day of BYS Fashion Week.
Two collections that displayed heavy extravaganza as metal studs, crystals, and prints made their way down the runway. Inspired by the advocacy BYS Philippines has been communicating with their audience, Kaye Morales and JustBonita showcased collections that truly break the stigma in our society.

Held at the Maybank Theater in Taguig, Kaye Morales opened the second day of BYS Fashion Week with a collection deeply rooted by empowerment and her eye for heavy rock opulence. Entitled “Unchained,” it was a juxtaposition of the struggles and victories one faces in society.
A rather dark color palette reigned the collection as striking reds, blacks, and whites were used in maximalist prints and embroidery. Graphic coordinates, metal chains and studs, as well as tassels that cascaded the models’ figures beautifully gave the collection a much needed edge to symbolize one’s journey to breaking their chains.

It was a message that brought forth one’s voyage to reaching their full potential—a statement that was perfectly showcased as the final four of Drag Race Philippines took their positions on stage in their heavy rock inspired ensembles. And to close the show, Arci Muñoz, clad in a shoulder-padded embellished tee and a tiered skirt featuring its intricate draping techniques, stepped on the runway.
After Kaye Morales, JustBonita presented a collection that embraced an ultra femme grandiosity. With a lavish line of sultry and alluring pieces, the collection brought out feminine details that championed the silhouette of the wearer to the spotlight.

JustBonita continues to challenge the bounds of gender stereotypes as the selection tapped into sensual elements that are featured on both men and women. It was a strong message that was exhibited with corsets, see-through ensembles, and gorgeous crystals.

Closing the glamorous show, reigning beauty queens Celeste Cortesi and Nicole Borromeo walked the runway in figure-hugging ensembles that perfectly represented the identity of JustBonita.
