Fashion is deep in its situationship era. Buying is out, borrowing is the new seduction, and Rotación knows exactly where it fits in this wardrobe affair. As more women break up with fast fashion and rethink the high of a checkout click, rentals are fast becoming Manila’s version of a modern wardrobe: fluid, flirtatious, and noncommittal. But in a city full of rental players, what makes this one different?
Co-founder Erica Dee talks to MEGA about rewriting the rules of wear and return, and keep Manila’s best dressed on rotation.

Rotación was founded by four friends—Erica Dee, Nicia Sy, Nona Amoncio, and Ged Poe—none of whom are new to rethinking how we dress. “When we launched Nirvana Collective, our goal was to reimagine secondhand fashion post-pandemic,” Dee says. But as the scene grew, she felt the clothes (the real stars) were getting lost.
“That’s when Rotación came into the picture. It was a natural evolution… We wanted to go beyond resale, introducing rentals to reduce overconsumption and give pieces more life.”
It’s a familiar mission across the board. But in a growing rental scene, Rotación manages to do it with its own edge. Here are three things that set it apart.
1. It’s the Memory That Makes the Look
What makes something Rotación-worthy? According to Dee, it’s not all about the label or the cut. “Every piece of clothing we get, beyond the style and brand, really has its own flair. We don’t get it just because of how it looks, but because there’s a story behind it,” she shares.

One dress might have been worn while getting proposed to, later on borrowed for a birthday. “They’re all different memories that give so much depth to a piece. That’s what makes them Rotación-worthy.”
2. A Trip to the ‘Rotación Suite’
Yes, you can browse their pieces online, but the real experience happens offline. Book an appointment and you’re led into the ‘Rotación Suite’: part speakeasy, part Cher Horowitz’s dream closet, if she ever traded her revolving wardrobe for curated racks and a cocktail cart. “We didn’t want Rotación to feel like just a rental shop,” Dee says. “We wanted it to feel like an escape.”

And it does. The space is filled with hotel-level details: branded slippers, plush robes, a mini bar, a spacious fitting room, and a lounge where your friends can play fashion jury. “Everything was designed with intention — not just to look good, but to make people feel safe, seen, and stylish.”
3. You Can Keep It Forever
Most rentals ask you to love it and leave it. Rotación lets you get a little more attached. If you fall for a piece, you can request to purchase it (assuming the consignor is ready to part ways, of course). It’s a feature that’s still rare locally, but one that gives the platform a sense of freedom and fluidity.
“Like what we mentioned, we first started with only resale, but soon realized that people wanted to rent for momentous occasions,” Dee says. “So, we give the option to buy if you want to keep it forever—and rent if you want it for now, but not for always.”

Despite listing what makes them stand out, it’s never a battle of which platform has the most stylish edit. The era’s over. We look at the real win: more Filipinas walking away from the checkout-to-use-once spiral and into renting, whether it be for their anniversary dinners, their best friend’s birthday, or their Amalfi-adjacent Aperol moments.
“We want to show that being sustainable and practical can be really cool,” Dee says. Cool, conscious, well-dressed? We’ve yet to meet a woman who doesn’t want to be that.
