For KLFW 2025, Uzair Shoid stepped into the pull of the tide. Current moved with the rhythms of water—waves that swell, hesitate, and break. It was a meditation on motion and force, and the spaces in between.

Shell fragments, acrylic sheeting, and fine beadwork traced the garments like the language of the shoreline, where debris and treasure meet. The beads scattered across fabric decorative constellations that further suggested memory—something both fluid and fixed.

The palette shifted with the sun: cool blues and misted beige spoke of early light over calm waters, before warming into the coral, orange, and pink of a horizon tipping toward night. Together, it foretold change—the surge forward, the inevitable retreat, the beauty in both.

With Current, Uzair Shoid offered a reminder that we are all shaped by our own tides.
