As fashion evolves, so too do the vanguards that cover, celebrate, and spotlight the industry and the people that make it. And on that note, MEGA prepares to enter a new chapter as it nears its 35th anniversary in February 2027 by welcoming Gee Plamenco Jr. to take the helm as its next Creative Director.

Gee Plamenco Jr. Is MEGA’s Creative Director

A fashion and celebrity photographer with a background in advertising, portraiture, and fashion, Plamenco has built his career around visual storytelling and creative production. His work has earned him recognition among his peers, with a portfolio spanning creative direction, art direction, and brand identity. Plamenco also served as the Creative Director and proprietor of IMSTUDIO10, where he led creative concepts, art direction, and production for a range of clients. He managed projects from concept development through execution, collaborating closely with clients, talents, and production teams in fast-paced creative environments.

It’s this commitment to creativity honed through his years in the industry, a disposition for visual polish, and more that he brings to the table as the lead on the magazine’s visual direction across print, digital, and social platforms, overseeing covers, fashion editorials, special features, and other editorial content. “As a creative myself, I focus on championing Filipino creatives and talents first. As a leader, my goal is to bring fresh imagery and a renewed creative perspective to MEGA,” says Plamenco. “I’m looking forward to collaborating and creating with Filipino creatives, and contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the brand.”

For MEGA’s Editor-in-Chief, Peewee Reyes-Isidro, Plamenco brings a vision that makes him a fit with MEGA’s continued focus on creative excellence and commitment to Filipino talent. “Gee Plamenco brings to MEGA decades of experience as a photographer and creative, with a highly discerning eye shaped by both editorial and commercial practice,” she shares. “His distinct point of view, coupled with his ability to balance artistic vision with commercial sensibility, will further enrich and elevate MEGA’s visual language while opening new creative possibilities for the brand.”

In the role, Plamenco, who has worked with MEGA before as the photographer behind past covers, will now conceptualize and direct major shoots, develop visual treatments for editorial stories, and collaborate with the editorial team to shape the magazine’s visual output. He will also oversee its creative teams on print and digital and uphold visual standards across platforms that align with the brand’s signature voice, identity, and style.

His appointment makes for an exciting new chapter welcomed by both Plamenco and the MEGA team as the brand looks to further strengthen its mission to champion Filipino fashion, creativity, and craftsmanship, all in the service of connecting local talent with audiences in the Philippines and beyond in the years to come.
