He’s holding them all. Effective immediately, Jonathan Anderson steps into all three roles following the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s first female creative director, who wrapped her nine-year tenure with a cinematic Cruise 2026 collection in Rome. In a historic move, he becomes the first designer since Monsieur Dior himself to oversee all divisions—uniting the creative direction of men’s, women’s, and couture under a single, highly curated vision.

“His incomparable artistic signature will be a crucial asset in writing the next chapter of the history of the House of Dior,” said LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, while Dior CEO Delphine Arnault called it a “creative and modern vision… inspired by the fabulous story of Monsieur Dior and the codes he created.”
With great power comes an even greater production schedule. Anderson is now expected to deliver ten collections a year for Dior—four each for women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, plus two haute couture collections (a first for him). Add to that six more collections for his own label JW Anderson, and two for the JW Anderson x Uniqlo collaboration, and we’re looking at an eighteen-collection year cinematic universe.
The film allusions don’t stop there. Anderson was recently signed to UTA following his forays into cinema, designing costumes for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers and Queer. The move points to an increasingly multi-hyphenate profile.

Still, if anyone can make it look easy (and cheeky, and subversively beautiful), it’s Anderson. Already a juggernaut through his work at LOEWE and his own namesake label, he brings a reputation for wit, craft, and a disruptive charm that’s made him a darling of critics and consumers. “I have always been inspired by the rich history of this House, its depth, and empathy,” he said in the official statement. “I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story.”

His debut is slated for Dior Men Summer 2026 show on June 27 in Paris. With a single designer now steering the full spectrum of Dior’s output, all eyes will be watching to see whether this consolidated vision becomes the equivalent of auteur cinema or a grand new genre entirely.
