From July 30 to August 2, 2026, ArteFino returns to Power Plant Mall in Makati for its annual fair, celebrating a decade of championing Filipino craftsmanship and heritage. Titled ArteFino: Isang Dekada, this year’s edition reflects on ten years of connecting artisans with a wider audience while looking ahead to the future of Filipino design.
MEGA spoke with co-founder Maricel Francisco, who reflected on how ArteFino has evolved from a curated marketplace into a movement dedicated to preserving and celebrating Filipino craftsmanship.

Stories Behind the Craft
For the past ten years, Francisco has been at the helm of ArteFino, helping build a platform where Filipino artisans, designers, and makers can share not only their work, but also the stories behind it.
“When we started ArteFino, we weren’t just creating another fair—we wanted people to discover the stories behind every product, every artisan, and every community. We wanted people to value Filipino craftsmanship the way we have,” Francisco said.
That mission, she says, remains unchanged today.

Despite a decade of growth, Francisco admits that the most rewarding moments remain surprisingly simple. “Ten years later, it’s still incredibly heartwarming to see someone buy a piece because they connected with its story, or to hear that a brand has grown because of the opportunities ArteFino helped create.”
“It’s never just been about sales. It’s about giving talented Filipino artisans, designers, and makers the platform and recognition they deserve.”

Filipino Craftsmanship Over the Years
Over the years, ArteFino has witnessed Filipino craftsmanship evolve alongside the brands it has championed. According to Francisco, today’s makers are embracing their identity with greater confidence than ever before.
“Before, many looked outward for inspiration. Today, they’re looking inward—celebrating our traditions, indigenous techniques, local materials, and cultural heritage, then interpreting them in ways that feel fresh, relevant, and contemporary,” she reflected.

Their craftsmanship has evolved—but so has their mindset as entrepreneurs. “Our brand partners aren’t just building businesses; they’re creating livelihoods, preserving traditional crafts, and making sustainability a part of the conversation,” Francisco added.
As ArteFino enters its second decade, Francisco hopes every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and communities behind every piece.
“Personally, I’d love to see more young people discover the value of making things by hand, more traditional crafts passed on to the next generation, and more Filipino brands finding their place on the global stage,” she shared.

Ultimately, the next chapter of ArteFino is about continuing to champion the people and traditions that make Filipino craftsmanship unique.
“As long as there are stories worth telling, I believe ArteFino will always have a purpose—and that is what I hope will define our next decade.”
– Maricel Francisco
