With a decade-long partnership and a bespoke trophy trunk, the luxury house cements its place in motorsport history

Sports and fashion have long been in a high-stakes relay, passing influence back and forth and occasionally making a break for the other’s territory. In Formula 1, they’re racing full throttle toward full integration. With Louis Vuitton officially in the driver’s seat as an Official Partner of Formula 1 for the next decade, the relationship between luxury fashion and motorsport has never been more turbocharged.

Louis Vuitton is the official partner of Formula 1

At the core of this collaboration is the custom-made Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk, designed to cradle the FIA Formula One World Championship™ trophy. Premiering at the F1 75 event in London—where all ten teams, drivers, and Team Principals gather for the first time—this presents a symbol of how fashion and sport continue to dominate, whether on the catwalk or the circuit.

Louis Vuitton’s trophy trunks have long been the final stop for champions in everything from the FIFA World Cup to the Ballon d’Or.

The collaboration further emphasizes fashion and sports’ partnership in the industry

But this particular case carries a little extra fuel in its tank. Designed at the maison’s Asnières atelier, it features a “V” on its folding front panels—referencing both “Victory” and “Vuitton.” The pattern features Formula 1’s signature black-and-white checkered flag, while the trunk itself harks back to Vuitton’s automotive heritage, dating back to when Georges Vuitton developed travel trunks tough enough to endure the wear and tear of early automobiles.

If that’s not proof enough that fashion and motorsport have always shared a pit stop, consider this: in 2025, the partnership is shifting gears in an even bigger way. Louis Vuitton’s presence will be felt across every race, with trackside branding, pre-race Trophy Trunk appearances, and a starring role in the podium celebrations. It’s also taking over the season’s first race as the Title Partner of the Formula 1® Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025.

F1 has always been a sport of speed, strategy, and spectacle, and in recent years, its footprint has grown at breakneck speed. Between the celebrity-packed paddocks, designer team uniforms, and the streetwear-meets-speed aesthetic that drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc bring off-track, the sport has become as much about style as it is about engineering.

This partnership is a meeting of minds that chase perfection with precision. Whether it’s the artisans crafting each Vuitton trunk or the engineers fine-tuning an F1 car down to the last millisecond, both worlds operate on a level where excellence isn’t a goal, but just the bare minimum. As Formula 1 accelerates with an ever-expanding global fan base and more eyes on the sport than ever, Louis Vuitton ensures that every win is carried forward—because victory travels in Vuitton.
