Influencers tell you what to buy. That’s the job. This is the mascara that “changed” their lashes. This is the concealer that “saved” their skin. But what does Lierge Perey do? She side-parts her hair, flips it just so, and suddenly half of TikTok is in a blowout frenzy. Here, the beauty content creator gives MEGA the most specific breakdown on how to cop her look: tools, products, and the technique behind that flip.

Big, bouncy blowout meets a deep side part

Perey didn’t invent anything. You’ve seen the hairstyle before. Take Kylie Jenner in her post-King Kylie era, with her big, bouncy, borderline ridiculous volume that everyone and their mothers tried to copy. We argue it’s why Perey’s signature is being eaten up across the familiar. It feels familiar, in the best and sexiest possible way.

Exact Blowout Blueprint

She tells MEGA that the look starts in the shower.

Step 1: Use the right shampoo.

“The shampoo you use is very, very important,” she insists. “It shouldn’t make your hair slippery straight, and it shouldn’t have a lot of oil in it because that will weigh the hair down.” She uses the Happy Skin Volume & Bounce Shampoo, the product she claims “changed my life and my blowout game!”

Step 2: Blow-dry until 30% dry.

That means leaving 70% of your hair still damp—just enough to let your stylers grip, not slip.

Step 3: When you hit 90% dry, use your curling tool.

“This is when I start using my Dyson Airwrap (the biggest barrel) to curl!” she says. “A crucial tip here is to ‘cool shot’ your hair. Some hairstylists use rollers to cool down and set the air, but with a Dyson, there’s no need. Keep it on ‘cool shot’ for 10 seconds.”

Step 4: Alternate your curl directions.

Inward, outward, repeat. “This is so when you brush it out, it won’t be one singular wave,” Perey teaches us. And for that signature ‘Lierge effect’ swoop? Use a thin brush to tease the bangs.

Step 5: Flip it and set it.

Once curled, spray it, then flip your hair upside down like you’re mid-headbang at a concert you wouldn’t be caught dead at. “Brush your hair with your fingers, set it again with hairspray, and voilà, your hair will be as voluminous as ever,” she beams.

Lierge didn’t set out to become a hair reference. And yet—here we are, side-parting like it’s a personality trait. She’s proof that the best beauty moments aren’t always invented. Sometimes, they’re just worn well enough to be missed when they’re hidden. It’s always been around after all.
