For decades, the Eurovision Song Contest has been one of the must-watch music competitions in the world as countries all over Europe send their representative to compete and hopefully take home the coveted title. It’s been a big deal on the continent that has seen icons such as ABBA and Celine Dion perform there before they became global superstars.
And this year, the competition’s influence expands borders with the launch of the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, which will now see Asian countries compete for their own title, and that includes the Philippines. In fact, ten original tracks brought to life by a mix of established OPM acts and rising stars are in the running to be the country’s representative.

The OPM Songs Representing the Philippines at Eurovision Asia
Happening on November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand, the Eurovision Song Contest Asia will see countries across the continent, 11 to be exact, compete for the chance to win the first-ever Eurovision Asia title. In the Philippines, ABS-CBN serves as the official broadcast partner for the country’s participation, and they will also be spearheading the selection of the track that will represent the country at Eurovision Asia.
The competing songs will go toe-to-toe in Pili, Pinas! Philippine Selection Night on August 30, hosted by Vice Ganda. The winner will be determined by a score composed of 40% jury votes, 40% local votes, and 20% international votes. The selected track will then be the Philippines’ official entry to the international competition.

A total of ten tracks are vying for the win, and they’re made and performed by a diverse mix of OPM artists. There are familiar names such as Jason Dy, Elha Nympha, and Esang de Torres, talented composers like Nica del Rosario and Hazel Faith, rookie P-pop acts such as DNA, VVINK, and AJAA, and rising artists, most notably the participation of PBB Collab Season 2 alumnus Carmelle Collado.
Not only will the winning act make history as the country’s first representative at the Eurovision Asia Song Contest, but they’ll also have the honor of performing at one of the biggest stages of the year and potentially secure their spot in the history books by winning the whole thing. If you’ve seen Eurovision before, you’d know that artists go all out with their stages and performances that can fill an entire arena, and it’s safe to say we can expect the same energy for Eurovision Asia.
