Every season, there seems to be a new “it” bag making headlines in the fashion circuit. It’s hardly surprising why that is, given that it’s functional first and foremost. That, and bags are an excellent finishing touch. They might not be able to solve every styling problem, but they do make the final decision much easier. Pick the right arm piece, and whatever came before it looks even more elevated.
Marian Rivera seems to have found such a bag in Gucci’s Horsebit Ristretto, and apparently, she isn’t alone. Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Kylie Verzosa, and Michelle Dee have also taken an interest in the same design.
Meet the Gucci Horsebit Ristretto, a Growing Celebrity Favorite

Gucci has never been shy about letting a monogram be a monogram. On the Ristretto, beige GG canvas covers a slim rectangular body bordered with brown leather. The Horsebit stretches across its front, bringing in an equestrian emblem the House has used since the 1950s. There’s plenty to look at, though the bag keeps everything in order. Its narrow proportions give the familiar Gucci details a neater finish.

That ease helps explain its growing Filipino following. Rivera, Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Verzosa, and Dee are joined by Bella Racelis, Anthony Constantino, Jarren Garcia, Kyle Echarri, and BJ Pascual among the personalities who have already carried the bag.

The Ristretto Is Part of Demna’s New Gucci Bag Lineup
The Ristretto was among the accessory highlights at Gucci’s F/W26 preview. Also presented were the Jetset GG Marmont, Jackie Flap, and Horsebit Duomo. Each design draws from an established Gucci signature and places the House’s history within bags intended for the present season.
Titled Primavera, this collection continues to establish Demna’s direction for Gucci. In his accompanying statement, the creative director describes a pragmatic vision built around products that different people can enjoy and make part of their lives.
Demna’s Gucci Ristretto has already begun its life beyond the preview here in the Philippines. So far, it’s steadily becoming one of the next bags to watch.
Gucci Primavera is now available at Greenbelt 4, Makati.
