It’s a rare confession in an industry where young women are often expected to let insults roll off their backs like glitter. But Angela doesn’t sugarcoat the sting of being a public figure in the digital age. Instead, she turns toward the light, her smile, warmth, candor, and keeps going.
That kind of openness makes her the perfect fit for Alys Perez, the beloved Wattpad heroine she now brings to life in Seducing Drake Palma. Like Alys, Angela radiates humor and vulnerability in equal measure, allowing the messy and tender parts of teenage complexity to feel not just believable but universal. “I could relate to Alys by being super duper vulnerable and also a little bit naive,” she says.
Angela is without a doubt a rising actress, a singer, a digital storyteller with over 4.6 million followers on Tiktok, and, most importantly, a woman determined to claim her place on her own terms.
Her journey began at five years old, when she was drawn to music and performance, eventually debuting in Ppop Generation. Those years of stage discipline—the rehearsals, the stamina, the spotlight—laid the foundation for a career now taking sharper shape on screen. “I’ve always envisioned myself as an artist ever since I was young,” she says. “This is me finally emerging into the visions I’ve always had of myself—this is the main event.”
And yet, the glare of 4.6 million pairs of eyes on social media can make even the most seasoned performer second-guess herself. “It never really dawns on you how much 4.6 million people are in real life, on your phone, it’s just numbers,” she reflects. “There is a pressure on what to post, because you always want to seem perfect in front of everyone. But I always remind my audience that it’s okay to be your authentic self…We don’t always have to fit into a certain type of standard.”
Her authenticity, though, doesn’t mean she’s impervious to doubt. Angela is frank about the tightrope she walks between pleasing people and preserving herself. “Some hate feels forced,” she says, “like there’s no real reason to hate me. But somehow I feel obliged to apologize for being myself. That’s what I want to change. I want to show my authentic self without shrinking for others.”
If the past few years have been about proving she belongs, the next ones are about expanding what that belonging looks like. She won’t settle to just playing the main character anymore; she’ll inhabit it. And maybe that’s her most defining role yet.
